2011 UFL Draft
The 2011 UFL Draft was the third and final draft of the United Football League. The draft took place on Monday, May 2, 2011. The draft was held over a period of 10 rounds during which each of the five UFL teams was allowed one pick per round, in reverse order of 2010 finish, with the last-place Hartford Colonials picking first and the champion Las Vegas Locomotives picking last in each round. The expansion Virginia Destroyers took the place of the defunct Florida Tuskers, from whom the Destroyers inherited their staff, in the draft order; the Destroyers also received a "bonus selection" at both the end of the fourth round and the end of the draft, respectively. During rounds one and two, each team had five minutes to make their selection of a player. During rounds three through ten, each team had three minutes to make their selection of a player. United Football League (2009–2012)
The United Football League (UFL) was a professional American football minor league based in the United States that began play in October 2009 and played four seasons, the final one being cut short in October 2012. The small league, which never had more than five teams playing at one time, played most of its games in markets where the National Football League (NFL) had no current presence. Unlike most alternative professional football leagues since the 1980s, the UFL played all of its games in the traditional fall season, competing directly with the NFL, college football, and high school football. Sacramento Mountain Lions
The Sacramento Mountain Lions was a professional American football team based in Sacramento, California that played in the United Football League (2009–2012), United Football League. The franchise originated as the California Redwoods, and played its home games in San Francisco and San Jose, California, San Jose before relocating to Hornet Stadium (Sacramento), Hornet Stadium in Sacramento in 2010, then to Raley Field in West Sacramento in 2012. The Louisville Cardinals (also known as the Cards) are the NCAA athletic teams representing the University of Louisville. The Cardinals teams play in the Atlantic Coast Conference, beginning in the 2014 season. Kurt Quarterman (born October 5, 1983) is a former American football guard. He last played for the Sacramento Mountain Lions in the United Football League in 2012. He played college football at the University of Louisville. High school career Quarterman attended Westover Comprehensive High School in Albany, Georgia where he was a three-year varsity football starter and earned All-Metro Conference second-team honors as a senior in 2001. Joel Bell
Joel Bell (born July 29, 1985) is a former American football offensive lineman who signed with the Buffalo Bills in 2009. In 2004 Bell accepted an athletic scholarship to attend Furman University in Greenville, SC. From 2006 to 2008 as left tackle, he captured All-Conference honors each year as well as All-American honors and the Jacobs Blocking Trophy his senior year. Bell was also named to the 2007 South Carolina All-State Football Team and the 2008 College Sporting News FCS Fabulous 50 Team.
