Silk Way Rally
The Silk Way Rally ( rus, Шёлковый путь) is an annual rally raid type of off-road race. The first Silk Way Rally was raced in 2009 from Kazan, Russia to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. From 2010 to 2013, the race has taken place in Russia. The 2016 edition had a Moscow-Astana-Beijing route, the 2017 edition starts in Moscow and finishes in Xi'an, China. From 2009 to 2011, the rally was part of ASO's Dakar Series. In previous editions several stages of Silk Way Rally also constituted a part of Russian Rally Championship as well as the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies. Rules Silk Way Rally is a rally raid that goes both through off-road spaces and by public roads. Hans Stacey (born 9 March 1958, Best, Netherlands) is a Dutch rally car driver. He participated in various national championships, where he became the champion of his country in 1991 and 1992, driving a Mitsubishi Galant VR 4. He also was victorious driving a Subaru Impreza in 1997 and 2001. Aleš Loprais (born 10 January 1980 in Olomouc) is a Czech rally raid truck driver. Loprais has a long association with Tatra and has been a frequent participant of the Dakar Rally, having also won the 2011 Silk Way Rally in the truck category. Career Loprais is nephew of the highly successful Czech rally raid truck driver Karel Loprais. The younger Loprais first competed on the Dakar Rally in 2006 as navigator to his uncle Karel, and from 2007 he has competed as a driver for Tatra.
