2011 Ole Miss Rebels Football Team
The 2011 Ole Miss Rebels football team represented the University of Mississippi in the 2011 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was coached by Houston Nutt, who was in his fourth season. The Rebels played their home games at Vaught–Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi, and competed in the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They finished the season 2–10, 0–8 in SEC play to finish in last place in the Western Division. On November 7, Nutt resigned as head coach effective at the end of the season. On February 11, 2019, Ole Miss announced the vacation of all wins in the years 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2016. In 2013, all wins except the Music City Bowl were vacated. In 2014, all wins except the Presbyterian game were vacated. Houston Nutt
Houston Dale Nutt Jr. (born October 14, 1957) is an American former college football coach and player. He formerly worked for CBS Sports as a college football studio analyst. Previously, he served as the head football coach at Murray State University (1993–1996), Boise State University (1997), the University of Arkansas (1998–2007), and the University of Mississippi (2008–2011). Nutt's all-time career winning percentage is just under 59 percent. Derrick Nix (American Football)
Derrick Nix (born February 22, 1980) is an American football coach and former player who is currently the offensive coordinator at Auburn University. He played college football at Southern Miss where he was the only player in Conference USA history to rush for over 1,000 yards in three seasons. Early years Nix grew up in Attalla, Alabama. His father was a pastor and his older brother Tyrone played linebacker Southern Miss before becoming a coach. Nix attended Etowa High School where he was an all county selection as a senior. Nix was recruited by Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Florida as a linebacker but he instead decided to commit to the University of Southern Mississippi as he wanted to play running back and his brother worked as an assistant coach at the school. Mike Markuson
Mike Markuson (born June 15, 1961) is an American gridiron football coach. He was formerly the offensive line coach for Jackson State and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Markuson was the offensive line coach at the University of Wisconsin–Madison from January to September 9, 2012. Education Markuson is a 1979 graduate of Farmington Senior High School in Farmington, Minnesota. He earned his B.A. in psychology at Hamline University in 1983, and earned his M.S. in athletic administration at South Dakota State University in 1986.
