2011 Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge
The 2011 Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge was held at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on August 5, 2011. It was the fifth round of the 2011 American Le Mans Series season. Qualifying Qualifying Result Pole position In a motorsports race, the pole position is usually the best and "statistically the most advantageous" starting position on the track. Race The race was red flagged with around 10 minutes to go due to heavy rain conditions. Team Falken Tire had very good wet weather tires which earned them their first win in ALMS. Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is a road course auto racing facility located in Troy Township, Morrow County, Ohio, United States, just outside the village of Lexington. Mid-Ohio has also colloquially become a term for the entire north-central region of the state, from south of Sandusky to the north of Columbus. Bryan Sellers (born August 19, 1982 in Dayton, Ohio) is an American racing driver. Sellers won the title in the U.S. F2000 in 2002 and later competed in the Atlantic Championship and in racing sports cars. Walker Racing was a racing team founded by Derrick Walker in 1991 racing originally in the CART Championship Car series. It last competed in the United SportsCar Championship under the name of Team Falken Tire until Falken Tire pulled out of not only the series but the team in general at the conclusion of the 2015 United SportsCar Championship season. Jörg Bergmeister (born 13 February 1976, in Leverkusen) is a former racing driver from Germany and an ambassador of Porsche. His late father, Willi Bergmeister, owned a workshop and dealership where Michael Schumacher learned his trade as a car mechanic in the 1980s. Since 1996, Jörg has raced in the Porsche Carrera Cup.
