2011 JK Racing Asia Series Season
The 2011 JK Racing Asia Series was the first season of the rebranded Formula BMW, Formula BMW Pacific Series, which ran for seven seasons in Asia. The championship began on 9 April in Sepang International Circuit, Sepang and was scheduled to finish on 30 October in Buddh International Circuit, India after eighteen races held at six meetings. However, due to unexpected cancellations, the final meeting was held on 4 December in Sepang International Circuit, Sepang. Nine teams fielded 28 full-time and guest drivers during the tour. Austrian rookie Lucas Auer, the nephew of Formula 1 driver Gerhard Berger became the 2011 JK Racing Asia Series Driver Champion with 292 points after scoring 17 podium finishes from 18 races with 7 wins. His nearest competitor, Afiq Ikhwan, took 10 wins during the whole season, equalling the record previously set by Jazeman Jaafar, but only managed second overall with 285 points. JK Racing Asia Series
JK Racing Asia Series, formerly known as both Formula BMW Asia and Formula BMW Pacific, was a Open wheel car, single-seater racing series based in Asia. Formula BMW Asia was created in 2003 as a replacement for Asian Formula 2000 and was under the management of Motorsport Asia Limited. It was renamed Formula BMW Pacific for the 2008 season. In 2011 the series lost BMW support but received JK Tyre sponsorship and was rebranded as JK Racing Asia Series. EuroInternational is a racing organization (which includes Italian division EuroInternational Srl and American division EuroInternational Inc.) owned by Antonio Ferrari. History Originally known as Euromotorsport, the team made its CART debut in 1989 with Jean-Pierre Frey at Phoenix. After Frey was unable to complete the USAC Rookie Orientation Program at Indianapolis, the team signed Davy Jones (racing driver), Davy Jones, who qualified for the Indianapolis 500 and finished in 7th place in his only appearance for the team that year. Pole Position
In a motorsports race, the pole position is usually the best and "statistically the most advantageous" starting position on the track. The pole position is usually earned by the driver with the best qualifying times in the trials before the race, although penalties may award it to the second fastest driver, as the pole position is statistically awarded to the driver starting in first position. Marina Bay Street Circuit
The Marina Bay Street Circuit (otherwise known as the Singapore Street Circuit) is a street circuit around Marina Bay, Singapore, encompassing the planning areas of Downtown Core (Turns 4 to 19) and Kallang (Turns 1 to 3). It is the venue for the Singapore Grand Prix. The track is long in a harbourside location similar in style to the Circuit de Monaco and the Valencia Street Circuit. Sentul International Circuit
Sentul International Circuit is a 50,000-capacity permanent motor racing circuit located at Sentul City, Babakan Madang, Bogor Regency, West Java, Indonesia, near the toll gate of Jakarta towards Bogor city and areas at the foot of Jonggol Mountains Its pit facilities have easy access to the Jagorawi Toll Road.
