German Television
Television in Germany began in Berlin on 22 March 1935, broadcasting for 90 minutes three times a week. It was home to the first regular television service in the world, named ''Fernsehsender Paul Nipkow''. In 2000, the German television market had approximately 36.5 million television households, making it the largest television market in Europe. Nowadays, 95% of German households have at least one television receiver. All the public-service German TV channels are free-to-air. History In 1948 the British occupation forces allowed NWDR to broadcast television programmes for the British zone. Other regional networks also started to launch television in their own areas. X Factor (Germany Season 2)
The second Season of X Factor started on 30 August 2011. The auditions were held in April/May 2011. The show was broadcast every Tuesday and Sunday (only the Auditions and the Superbootcamp). The Judges were Sarah Connor, Das Bo and Till Brönner . There were four phases: #Auditions #Bootcamp #Judge's House #Live Shows This year twelve acts had been a part of the live shows, and not nine. Furthermore, from the first to sixth live show the judges decided which act had to leave the X Factor. In the final were three acts. Selection process Applications and auditions The first appeal for applicants for series 2 was broadcast during series 1 on 9 November 2010. Auditions in front of the judges for series 2 took place in Cologne, Berlin, Munich and Hamburg. After the acts sing in front of the judges, they could be eliminated or go through to the Bootcamp. The Octonauts
''Octonauts'' is an animated children's television series, produced by Chorion in series 1 and Silvergate Media starting from series 2 for the BBC channel CBeebies. It is based on the children's books written by Meomi, the design team of Vicki Wong and Michael C. Murphy. The show follows an underwater exploring crew made up of stylised anthropomorphic animals, a team of eight adventurers who live in an undersea base, the ''Octopod'', from which they go on undersea adventures with the help of a fleet of aquatic vehicles. Although its technology is fictional, the exotic creatures and locations that the crew encounter are based on real marine animals in their natural habitats.
