Paul Cornell
Paul Douglas Cornell (born 18 July 1967) is a British writer. He has worked in television drama and ''Doctor Who'' fiction, being the creator of one of the Doctor's spin-off companions, Bernice Summerfield. Other British television dramas for which he has written include ''Robin Hood'', '' Primeval'', '' Casualty'', ''Holby City'' and ''Coronation Street''. For American television, he has contributed an episode to the modern-day set Sherlock Holmes series '' Elementary''. Cornell has also written for a number of British comics, as well as Marvel Comics and DC Comics in the United States, and has had six original novels published. He is one of only two people to be nominated for Hugo Awards in prose, comics and TV. John Romita Jr
John Salvatore Romita (; born August 17, 1956) is an American comics artist best known for his extensive work for Marvel Comics from the 1970s to the 2020s. He is the son of artist John Romita Sr. Early life John Romita Jr. was born August 17, 1956, the son of Virginia (Bruno) and comic book artist John Romita Sr., one of the signature ''Spider-Man'' artists since the 1960s. He studied advertising art and design at Farmingdale State College in East Farmingdale, New York, graduating in 1976. Career Romita Jr.'s first contribution to Marvel Comics was at the age of 13 with the creation of the original Prowler (Marvel Comics), Prowler, a sketch of which Romita had produced. Dave Gibbons
David Chester Gibbons (born 14 April 1949) is an English comics artist, writer and sometimes letterer. He is best known for his collaborations with writer Alan Moore, which include the miniseries ''Watchmen'' and the Superman story " For the Man Who Has Everything". He was an artist for '' 2000 AD'', for which he contributed a large body of work from its first issue in 1977. Early life Gibbons was born on 14 April 1949, at Forest Gate Hospital in London, to Chester, a town planner, and Gladys, a secretary. He began reading comic books at the age of seven. A self-taught artist, he illustrated his own comic strips. Gibbons became a building surveyor but eventually entered the UK comics industry as a letterer for IPC Media. Vincent Patrick Deighan (born January 18, 1968), better known by the pen name Frank Quitely, is a Scottish people, Scottish comic book artist. He is best known for his frequent collaborations with Grant Morrison on titles such as ''New X-Men (2001 series), New X-Men'', ''We3'', ''All-Star Superman'', and ''Batman and Robin (comic book), Batman and Robin'', as well as his work with Mark Millar on ''The Authority (comics), The Authority'' and ''Jupiter's Legacy (comic), Jupiter's Legacy''. Leinil Francis Yu
Leinil Francis Yu (born 1977) is a People of the Philippines, Filipino comic book artist, who began working for the United States, American market through Wildstorm Productions. Career Leinil Francis Yu was first recognized after winning the ''Wizard: The Comics Magazine, Wizard''s Drawing Board Contest, his first published work. He was first hired by Whilce Portacio to do some work for Wildstorm and started his comic book artist's career on ''Aster: The Last Celestial Knight'' #3 (with Ronaldo Roxas) in the mid-1990s, but that work fell through. Portacio then passed on samples of Yu's work to Marvel Comics, who subsequently hired him to work on ''Wolverine (comic book), Wolverine''. Order Of Orange-Nassau
The Order of Orange-Nassau () is a civil and military Dutch order of chivalry founded on 4 April 1892 by the queen regent, Emma of the Netherlands. The order is a chivalric order open to "everyone who has performed acts of special merits for society.” These are people who deserve appreciation and recognition from society for the special way in which they have carried out their activities. Titles, prefixes, or post-nominals are not used in the Netherlands – the only exception being the Military William Order. Martin Lodewijk
Martinus Spyridon Johannes Lodewijk (born 30 April 1939) is a Dutch comics writer and cartoonist, and advertising illustrator. Martin Lodewijk was born in Rotterdam. He dropped out of high school in 1957, and started drawing cartoons, notably of spacecraft and pirates. In 1959, his first cartoon was published in the newspaper ''Het Parool'', after which he specialized in drawing for commercial advertising. For the weekly comics magazine '' Pep'', he co-created with Jan Kruis the '' Agent 327'' comic in 1966, a feature he ended up writing and drawing for close to fifty years. He provided scripts for other strips, such as Don Lawrence's ''Storm''. After ''Pep'' and '' Sjors'' merged into '' Eppo'', Lodewijk became ''Eppo'''s chief editor. Marten Toonder
Marten Toonder (2 May 1912 – 27 July 2005) was a Dutch comic strip creator. He was probably the most successful comic artist in the Netherlands and had a great influence on the Dutch language by introducing new words and expressions. He is most famous for his series ''Tom Puss'' and ''Panda (comics), Panda''. Life Toonder was born in Rotterdam on 2 May 1912, in Rotterdam. He lived in Ireland from 1965 until the early 1990s. He was married to the cartoon artist Phiny Dick (1912–1990), who collaborated with her husband and on whose earlier created characters Ollie B Bumble and Tom Puss were based. In 1996, at the age of 84, he married the composer Tera de Marez Oyens, who died the same year.
