2011 Huntington Hammer Season
The 2011 Huntington Hammer season was the first season for the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) franchise. The Hammer were able to finish the season with a 7–7 record. In the playoffs, they were defeated by the Eastern Kentucky Drillers. The team was owned by principal owner, Cecil Vandyke, along with co-owners Bill Nichols and Rick Kranz. On January 6, 2011, Josh Resignalo was named the first head coach in Hammer history. Stephen Sutherland Fickert is an American football coach who has coached at the high school, college, indoor professional, and international levels. Playing career A native of Indianapolis, Fickert began his college football career at Miami of Ohio where he played for head coaches Bo Schembechler and Bill Mallory. He transferred to Butler University where he lettered 3 times from 1970 and 1972 and was named first team all– ICC. Early coaching career Fickert’s coaching career began at Seeger High School in West Lebanon, Indiana in 1973, finishing with a record of 1 win and 9 losses. He would then serve as a defensive coordinator at Wabash College for two years and for one year at Albion University where he was part of a very successful 1977 squad. The 2011 Johnstown Generals season was the first season for the Ultimate Indoor Football League The Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) was a regional professional indoor football league that began its inaugural season on February 18, 2011 as the Ultimate Indoor Football League before playing as the United Indoor Football League in 2012 ... Cedeno Patrick (born July 30, 1983) is an Arena Football League Veteran defensive back who is currently a free agent. Patrick played college football at Delaware State University. He has also played for the Baltimore Mariners, New Jersey Revolution, Tulsa Talons, Huntington Hammer, Harrisburg Stampede, Las Vegas Outlaws and the High Country Grizzlies Saskatchewan Rough Riders. Michael Robinson (born March 3, 1986) is a former professional arena football and indoor football defensive end. College career Robinson attended Nassau Community College where he was a standout member of the football team. He was named a 2005 pre-season NJCAA honorable mention as a tight end by Rivals.com. Professional career Huntington Hammer Robinson was selected with the first pick of the second round (7th Overall) by the Huntington Hammer in the 2011 UIFL Draft. Rodney Fritz Jr. (born May 8, 1987) is a former American football defensive lineman. Early life Born the son of Jennifer and Rodney Fritz, Rodney attended Hickman High School in Kansas City, Missouri. There he was named all-state as tight end, after having 21 receptions for 549 yards and nine touchdowns, and was an honorable mention as a linebacker. He was also named all conference in basketball. Andray Lee Mason III (born October 30, 1985) is a former American football running back and wide receiver. Early life Dray attended Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. There he was a standout running back as well as a defensive back, while also playing basketball and track and field. He helped his Trojan teammates win their third consecutive IHSAA Class 3A state championship in a 49-0 victory over NorthWood High School. In his senior season championship game, Mason ran for 205 yards and five touchdowns. During its three-year run, the Trojans owned a 40-5 mark, including a perfect 15-0 season in 2002. Martevious Young (born February 16, 1988) is a former American football quarterback. Early life Born to Robin Robinson, who died an early death, Martevious was raised by his guardians Joseph and Sheila Young. He played for Coach Willie Carl Martin at Benjamin Russell High School, where he was named a Permanent Starter. He was also a 5A Best Player in state nominee, a Super 12 selection, All-district in his junior and senior years. The Cambria County War Memorial Arena is a 4,001-seat multi-purpose arena in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, that is managed by SMG Entertainment. It was built in 1950, for the Johnstown Jets of the Eastern Hockey League. The arena was built on the site of the Union Cemetery, Johnstown's first cemetery. 2011 Northern Kentucky River Monsters Season
The 2011 Northern Kentucky River Monsters season was the first season for the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) franchise. Announced as a startup team for the newly formed Ultimate Indoor Football League in 2010, the team was purchased by Jill Chitwood from the UIFL in February 2011. Just a week before the season began, team General Manager, Jared Lorenzen, relieved himself of his duties as general manager, and became the quarterback for the franchise. In the River Monsters first ever game they defeated the Canton Cougars by a score of 63–41. With a Week 9 win over the Saginaw Sting, the River Monsters had clinched a postseason berth in their first season, clinching home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Dow Event Center
The Dow Event Center (formerly known as Saginaw County Event Center and Saginaw Civic Center) is an indoor arena located in Saginaw, Michigan. The center consists of several parts: The Atrium, The Garden Room, The Theater, The Red Room, Huntington Event Park, and The Arena. It currently houses the Ontario Hockey League's Saginaw Spirit.
