Eric Madsen
Eric Madsen is an American baseball coach and former player. He played college baseball at Eastern Utah from 1991 to 1992 before transferring to Southern Utah. He then served as the head coach of the Eastern Utah Golden Eagles (1997–2003) and Utah Valley Wolverines (2009–2021). Madsen took Utah Valley to its first NCAA Regional in 2016 and during his career has amassed a record of 305–357 Playing career Madsen graduated from Bonneville High School in Idaho Falls, Idaho where he lettered in three sports. In baseball, he was a three-year starter, earned all-City honors twice, and was named Athlete of the Year in his senior season as a pitcher and infielder. He attended Eastern Utah for two seasons then completed his eligibility at Southern Utah. Utah Valley Wolverines Baseball
The Utah Valley Wolverines represent Utah Valley University in NCAA DI collegiate athletics and sponsor 16 sporting programs. The Wolverines participate in the Western Athletic Conference. The school mascot is the Wolverine, and the colors are green and white. The UVU student section is called The Den. A name change from The Mawl, the student section's previous name, was enacted in 2017. All UVU students can get their Den pass, which includes free admission to all athletic events. Conference affiliation The Wolverines joined the Great West Conference in 2008. Utah Valley State College was originally a member of the NJCAA and moved to NCAA Division I in 2003. The Great West Conference baseball tournament, sometimes referred to simply as the Great West tournament, was the conference baseball championship of the NCAA Division I (NCAA), Division I Great West Conference. The eight members of the league played in the double-elimination tournament, which in its final season (2013) was played at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium in Newark, New Jersey. Harold Kraft Memorial Field
Harold Kraft Memorial Field is a baseball venue in Grand Forks, North Dakota, United States. It was home to the North Dakota Fighting Hawks baseball team of the NCAA Division I Western Athletic Conference. It is named for Harold Kraft, former coach of the North Dakota baseball program who revived the program in 1956 after it had been discontinued in 1921. Kraft coached the program from 1956 to 1981. It has a capacity of 2,000 spectators. On April 12, 2016, the University of North Dakota announced it will be dropping its baseball program after the 2016 season due to budget cuts. The 2011 NCAA Division I baseball tournament began on Friday, June 3, 2011 as part of the 2011 NCAA Division I baseball season. The 64 team double elimination tournament concluded with the 2011 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, on June 29, 2011. The 64 NCAA Division I college baseball teams were selected out of an eligible 300 teams. Thirty teams were awarded an automatic bid as champions of their conferences, and 34 teams were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee.
