2011 Dallas Vigilantes Season
The Dallas Vigilantes season was the second season for the franchise in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by Clint Dolezel and played their home games at the American Airlines Center. The Vigilantes finished the regular season 11–7, qualifying for the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. As the 3rd seed in the National Conference, they lost to the Chicago Rush in the conference semifinals, 51–54. Clint Dolezel
Clint Dolezel (born March 25, 1970) is an American football coach and former professional arena football player in the Arena Football League (AFL). Dolezel was a quarterback in the AFL before becoming the head coach of the AFL's Philadelphia Soul from 2013 until the league folded in 2019. He played college football at East Texas State, and was in the AFL for 13 seasons from 1995 to 2008. Dolezel first became a head coach in 2010 with the San Angelo Stampede Express of the Indoor Football League (IFL). After just a single season, Dolezel returned to the AFL as the head coach of the Dallas Vigilantes. After the Vigilantes franchise suspended operations, Dolezel joined the Philadelphia Soul as their offensive coordinator under head coach Doug Plank. Plank left the Soul following the 2012 season, and the Soul promoted Dolezel to head coach. Steve Watson (born April 9, 1982) is a former American football linebacker who last played for the Dallas Vigilantes of the Arena Football League. Prior to this, he played for the Tulsa Talons (one year) and the San Jose SaberCats (two years). He won an ArenaBowl with the SaberCats in 2007. Watson played football at Missouri State University (then called Southwest Missouri State University) from 2001 to 2004. He was a starter during his final two years at the school; at the end of his collegiate career, he had tallied some 238 tackles and 11 sacks.
