2011 California Golden Bears Football Team
The 2011 California Golden Bears football team represented the University of California, Berkeley in the 2011 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Led by tenth-year head coach Jeff Tedford, the Bears are members of the North Division of the Pac-12 Conference. Due to reconstruction at California Memorial Stadium, California played their home games in AT&T Park, now known as Oracle Park, in San Francisco, California. The season opener against Fresno State, officially a neutral-site game, was played at Candlestick Park. The regular season also ended with an away game with a matchup at 2011 Arizona State Sun Devils football team, Arizona State on November 25. Jeff Tedford
Jeffrey Raye Tedford (born November 2, 1961) is an American football coach and former player. From 2002 to 2012, Tedford was the head football coach for the California Golden Bears, where he was twice named Pac-10 Coach of the Year and holds the California program records for most wins, games coached, and bowl game victories. He also coached at Fresno State from 2017 to 2019 and from 2022 to 2023, leading the team to a school record 12 wins in 2018. Tedford played as a quarterback, playing college football for the Cerritos Falcons and Fresno State, then he played in the Canadian Football League (CFL). In his first head coaching position, Tedford inherited a Golden Bears team that had won only one game in its 2001 season. Andy Ludwig
Andy Ludwig (born May 14, 1964) is an American football coach who was most recently the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Utah. He played college football at Snow College and Portland State University, graduating in 1988. Coaching career From 1987 to 1988, Ludwig was the receivers coach at Portland State. Michael Patrick Mohamed (born March 11, 1988) is an American former professional football linebacker. He was selected by the Denver Broncos in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL draft. He played college football at California. Mohamed is the first player of Punjabi descent in NFL history. Christopher Michael Conte (born February 23, 1989) is an American former professional football player who was a safety in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 2011 NFL draft. He played college football for the California Golden Bears. The 2008 California Golden Bears football team represented the University of California, Berkeley in the 2008 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They played their home games at California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, California and are coached by Jeff Tedford. Shane Patrick-Henry Vereen (born March 2, 1989) is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL). Marcus Cole Arroyo (born January 23, 1980) is an American football coach and former player. He is the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at Arizona State. Ashley Avery Ambrose (born September 17, 1970) is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL).during the 1990s and early 2000s.
