2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup Group C
Group C of the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup was one of three groups competing at the tournament. The group's first round of matches were played on June 7, with the final round played on June 14. All six group matches were played at venues in the United States, in Detroit, Tampa and Kansas City. The group consisted of host, and four time Gold Cup champions, United States, 2000 Gold Cup champion Canada, as well as Panama and Guadeloupe. The group opened on June 7 with Panama taking an early three-goal lead against Guadeloupe before Brice Jovial of Guadeloupe brought the match within a goal's reach. However, the Panamanians were able to withstand Guadeloupe's late pressure and win their opening fixture. Immediately after the match, group favorites Canada and the United States squared off. The 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the 11th edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup competition, and the 21st CONCACAF regional championship overall in CONCACAF's 50 years of existence. The United States was the host nation. The competition started on June 5, 2011, at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, and ended with the final on June 25, 2011, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, with Mexico beating the United States 4–2. This competition was the fifth tournament without guests from other confederations. Mexico won their sixth Gold Cup, and ninth CONCACAF Championship overall. It was the third consecutive Gold Cup final and second consecutive win also. Eduardo Dasent
Eduardo Dasent (born 12 October 1988) is a Panamanian football defender who currently plays for Liga Panameña de Fútbol side Independiente La Chorrera. Club career Dasent started a lengthy spell at Tauro in 2006. He had loan spells at Guatemalan side Marquense and Colombian club Atlético Bucaramanga. He joined Independiente in July 2014. Luis Alfonso Henríquez Ledezma (born 23 November 1981 in Panama City) is a Panamanian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Szturm Junikowo Poznań. Club career Nicknamed ''Coco'', Henríquez played for Sporting '89 and Árabe Unido in Panama before moving abroad to play for Colombian side Envigado. Jaime Manuel Penedo Cano (born 26 September 1981) is a Panamanian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper for various teams such as: Osasuna B, CSD Municipal, LA Galaxy, Deportivo Saprissa and Dinamo București, among others, but also for the Panama national team, being the goalkeeper of the first squad of Panama that ever played in a World Cup.
