2011 BWF Super Series
The 2011 BWF Super Series was the fifth season of the BWF Super Series. This season marked the beginning of a three-year cycle of the event, the second after the first four-year one from 2007 to 2010. A few changes were announced by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), as the India Open (badminton), India Open was promoted up one stage from the Grand Prix Gold level, while the Swiss Open (badminton), Swiss Open was dropped from the Super Series. Five tournaments were promoted to become slightly higher-level Super Series Premier events with more prize money awarded than in the Super Series tournaments. The Masters Finals were held in Liuzhou, China from December 14–18, 2011. Like the previous season, the twelve tournaments were all hosted by nations in Asia and Europe with the Korea Open (badminton), Korea Open as the opening tournament and the Hong Kong Open (badminton), Hong Kong Open as the final tournament in the season. All England Open Badminton Championships
The All England Open Badminton Championships is the world's oldest badminton tournament, held annually in England. With the introduction of the BWF's latest grading system, it was given Super Series status in 2007, upgraded to Super Series Premier status in 2011, and designated a Super 1000 event at the birth of the World Tour in 2018. The Super 1000 events, held in four historic strongholds of the sport of badminton (Great Britain, China, Malaysia and Indonesia) are the highest level events below the World Championships and Olympic Games tournaments, and broadly equivalent in stature, though apart from the All-England not in historicity, to the Grand Slam tournaments in tennis. Gelora Bung Karno Sports Palace (, abbreviated as ''Istora''), (formerly named ''Istora Senayan'' between 1969 and 2001) is an indoor arena located in Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, Jakarta, Indonesia. The Singapore Indoor Stadium, known exonymously as the Indoor Stadium, is an indoor arena located in Kallang, Singapore. It is within walking distance of the Singapore National Stadium, and collectively form a part of the wider Singapore Sports Hub. Singapore Open (badminton)
The Singapore Open is a badminton event held annually in Singapore since 1929. In 2023, the Badminton World Federation categorized the Singapore Open as one of the six BWF World Tour Super 750 events within its tournament structure. In 1929, the Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) was formed to promote the sport and organize competitions. The first official annual open championships were held in the same year and the best players were selected to represent Singapore in regional tournaments. In 1957, it became an open invitation championship and was held annually until 1973. In 1987–1989, the tournament was known as the Konica Cup, an invitation-only championship for Asian players, and in 1990, it joined the International Badminton Federation Grand Prix circuit for the first time.
