2011 Argentine Provincial Elections
Most Provinces of Argentina held executive and legislative elections during 2011, electing governors and provincial legislatures. The only exceptions are Santiago del Estero Province, whose executive and legislative elections were elected in 2012; and Corrientes Province, whose gubernatorial election took place in 2013. There were also simultaneous local elections, whereby a number of municipalities or Partidos elect municipal legislative officials (''concejales''), and in some cases also a mayor (or equivalent). Although most of the elections took place on 23 October, the date of the Argentine general elections, each province stage the date of their elections according to provincial legislation. Front For Victory
The Front for Victory (, FPV) was a centre-left Peronist electoral alliance in Argentina, and is formally a faction of the Justicialist Party. Former presidents Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner were elected as representatives of this party. The Front for Victory is ideologically identified with what has been called Kirchnerism. Legally, the Front should not be confused with the Victory Party, which is just one of the political parties in it. Ambato Department
Ambato is a department in the province of Catamarca in the northwest of Argentina. It covers an area of 1761 km2 and features a mountainous terrain throughout. Administratively, it is divided into 7 districts: El Rodeo, Las Juntas, La Puerta, Los Varela, El Bolsón, Singuil, and Los Castillos. Toponymy According to some authors, its name comes from the Kakán expression An-Huatu, which means "high sorcerer," and is related to the highest hill in the area, the Manchao hill.
