PBA On Solar Sports
''PBA on Solar Sports'' (formerly known as ''PBA on C/S 9'' and ''PBA on Solar TV'') is a Philippine television sports presentation show broadcast by C/S, Solar TV and Studio 23. It aired from October 4, 2008 to August 21, 2011. The consist of branding used for presentation of Philippine Basketball Association produced by Solar Sports. Solar Entertainment had acquired the rights to the PBA after a highly publicized bidding war with major broadcaster ABS-CBN, and aired games on several channels, including Basketball TV, the RPN (which Solar was operating), and later on Studio 23. History Bidding process The Associated Broadcasting Company (ABC) had broadcast PBA games since 2004 on its VHF Channel 5, succeeding the failed NBN and IBC consortium which left the league in debt. PBA Commissioner's Cup
The PBA Commissioner's Cup is one of three active conferences in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). It is also one of two conferences, the other being the PBA Governors' Cup, Governors' Cup which allows teams to hire a single foreign player, known as an "import". The ''Commissioner's Cup'' also refers to the trophy awarded to the champion team. The first run of the Commissioner's Cup lasted from 1993 PBA season, 1993 to 2002 PBA season, 2002. In 2003, it was replaced by the returning 2003 PBA Invitational Championship, Invitational Championship, and from 2004 PBA Fiesta Conference, 2004 to 2009–10 PBA season, 2010, the PBA Fiesta Conference, Fiesta Conference was held as the lone import-laden conference. Paul Anthony Dy Artadi (born May 5, 1981) is a Filipino politician, basketball coach, and former professional player. On his eleven-year career in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), he played the point guard position and was a three-time PBA All-Star. In the collegiate level, he played for the University of the East (UE) and became an assistant coach for the team after retiring from the professional game. He has been serving as a city councilor of San Juan, Metro Manila since 2016. Joshua Emile Doherty Urbiztondo (born February 27, 1983) is a Filipino-American former professional basketball player. He last played for the San Miguel Alab Pilipinas of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL). Amateur career Urbiztondo played for Fresno Pacific University, Fresno-Pacific University in his final years of college. It was there where he gained a reputation as a scorer. Mark Reynan Mikesell Cardona (born November 13, 1981) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Biñan Tatak Gel of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and Pilipinas Super League (PSL). The Meralco Bolts is a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association. The team began in 2010 after the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) acquired the PBA franchise of the Sta. Lucia Realtors. The team is one of three PBA teams presently under the control of businessman Manuel V. Pangilinan – the other teams being the TNT Tropang 5G and the NLEX Road Warriors. The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters are a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association owned by Asian Coatings Philippines, Inc. It debuted in the league in the 2006–07 PBA season after acquiring the franchise rights of the Shell Turbo Chargers in 2006, which disbanded after the 2004–05 PBA season. Douglas Rimorin Kramer (born July 10, 1983) is a Filipino former basketball player. Playing power forward for the Ateneo Blue Eagles, he then played for eight teams in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Early life Kramer grew up in Baguio. His father was an oil engineer, while his mother stayed at home. He studied at a Christian school in his high school years. College career Ateneo Blue Eagles In his rookie season, the Eagles won the Season 65 championship. In UAAP Season 68, Kramer had a season-high 18 points alongside 12 rebounds and two blocks in a win over the NU Bulldogs. That season, Ateneo reached the semifinals.
