2010–11 Hamburger SV Season
The 2010–11 season of Hamburger SV began on 28 June with their first training session. Hamburg played its matches at Imtech Arena. Hamburg hired Armin Veh as their new head coach after sacking Bruno Labbadia near the end of last season and appointed Bastian Reinhardt as their new sports director. Hamburg were interested in a number of big name players, including Rafinha of Schalke 04, Michael Ballack, who Chelsea deemed surplus, Serdar Tasci of VfB Stuttgart and Jaroslav Drobný. Out of all of those, only Drobný decided to sign with Hamburg. Jérôme Boateng was the only major player sold, leaving for Manchester City. The signings continued during pre-season. Hamburger Sport-Verein e.V. (), commonly known as Hamburger SV () or Hamburg (), or HSV (), is a German sports club based in Hamburg, with its largest branch being its Association football, football department. Though the current HSV was founded in June 1919 from a merger of three earlier clubs, it traces its origins to 29 September 1887 when the first of the predecessors, SC Germania Hamburg, SC Germania, was founded. Jaroslav Drobný (footballer)
Jaroslav Drobný (; born 18 October 1979) is a Czech former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He currently works as the goalkeeping coach for German club Bayern Munich II. Drobný previously played for Panionios, ADO Den Haag, VfL Bochum, Ipswich Town, Hertha BSC, Hamburger SV, Werder Bremen, and Fortuna Düsseldorf. At international level, he represented the Czech Republic. Club career Drobný's first club was local club SK Chrudim. In his first season, he signed a contract with Chrudium's rivals FC Vítkovice. He joined First Division club S.K. České Budějovice in 1999 where he spent his first two professional seasons. In 2001, he was transferred to Panionios in the Alpha Ethniki, the first tier in Greece. Heiko Westermann (born 14 August 1983) is a German football coach and former player who is the assistant coach of La Liga club Barcelona.
