2010–11 B Group
The 2010–11 B Group was the 56th season of the Bulgarian B Football Group, the second tier of the Bulgarian football league system. The season started on 31 July 2010 and finished in May 2011 with the A Group promotion play-off. On 3 June the Executive Committee of Bulgarian Football Union decided to reduce the number of teams in both West and East B PFG due to the licensing problems that occurred in the last 5 years. The new format will consist 12 teams in each group playing three times during the season. The draw for the third matches will be conducted after Round 22 based in the Berger tables. The same principles were used in the first level football leagues in Macedonia and Montenegro. There is also change regarding the A Group promotion play-off. Since this season it will be played in two stages. The first will be the match between the runners-up from the East and West B PFG. Second Professional Football League (Bulgaria)
The Bulgarian Second Professional Football League ( bg, Втора професионална футболна лига, Vtora Profesionalna Futbolna Liga), also known as Second League ( bg, Втора Лига) or Vtora liga, is the second level of the Bulgarian football league system, below First Professional Football League (Bulgaria), First League and above the Third Amateur Football League (Bulgaria), Third League. Sixteen teams take part in the league, each playing twice against all the other, once home and once away. Most matches are played on Saturdays and Sundays. The league is administered by the Bulgarian Professional Football League. In 2016, the B Group's name was rebranded to Second Professional Football League. Competition format A team receives 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. No points are awarded for a loss. Bulgarian Football Union
The Bulgarian Football Union ( bg, Български футболен съюз, Bǎlgarski futbolen sǎyuz; BFS) is a football association based in Bulgaria and a member of UEFA. It organizes a football league, Bulgarian Parva Liga, and fields its Bulgaria national football team in UEFA and FIFA-authorised competitions. A legal entity that it claims descent from was founded in 1923 as the football department of the Bulgarian National Sports Federation, which existed until the Soviet invasion of 1944. The football governing body was then known as the Central Football Committee until 1948, the Republican Section for Football from 1948 until 1962 and the Bulgarian Football Federation from 1962 until 1985. PFC Rodopa Smolyan
FC Rodopa (ФК Родопа) is a Bulgarian football club based in Smolyan, which currently plays in the South-East Third League, the third tier of Bulgarian football league system. The team was named after the Rhodope Mountains and plays its home matches at the local Stadion Septemvri. Rodopa’s traditional home kit consists of green and white. Rodopa was founded in 1927. The club spent the majority of its history playing between the second and third tiers of Bulgarian football. In 2003, Rodopa managed to promote to the A Group for the first time in its history. FC Sportist ( bg, ФК Спортист) is a Bulgarian football club based in Svoge, which currently competes in the Second League, the second tier of Bulgarian football, following promotion from the Third League. The club was founded in 1924 and their home ground is the Stadion Chavdar Tsvetkov, which has a seating capacity of 3,500 spectators. FC Lokomotiv Mezdra (ФК Локомотив Мездра) is a Bulgarian football club from the town of Mezdra, which currently playing in the Third League, the third tier of Bulgarian football. PFC Vidima-Rakovski Sevlievo ( bg, ПФК Видима-Раковски Севлиево) was a Bulgarian football club based in Sevlievo- Balabanica, which competed in various Bulgarian football leagues (ultimately the North-West V AFG, the third level of Bulgarian football) before dissolving in 2015. The club was established on September 2, 1997 as Vidima-Rakovski. It was the successor to SC Rakovski, which was founded on December 19, 1922. Vidima-Rakovski played in the lower divisions of the Bulgarian football league system until 2003, when the club was promoted to the top division. FC Kaliakra Kavarna ( bg, ФК Калиакра Каварна) is a Bulgarian football club from the town of Kavarna, which currently competes in the A RFG Dobrich, the fourth tier of Bulgarian football. Founded in 1922 as Kaliakra Sport Club, the club spent most of its history in amateur football before making a rapid ascent to the second-flight of Bulgarian football in 1980. In 2010, the team managed to promote to the A Group for the first time. Their spell in the top flight lasted two seasons, ending in relegation in 2012.
