2010 World Twenty20 Qualifier
The 2010 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier was played from 9–13 February 2010 in the United Arab Emirates and a part of ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier series. The top two teams progressed to play in the 2010 ICC World Twenty20, the international championship of Twenty20 cricket. The eight competing teams were: Afghanistan, Canada, Ireland, Kenya, the Netherlands, Scotland, UAE and the United States national cricket team, USA. The groups were devised by virtue of seedings from the previous ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, which was won jointly by Ireland and the Netherlands and, for the teams not participating in that event (Afghanistan, UAE and USA) on latest one-day rankings. The tournament winners go into Group C of the ICC World Twenty20 2010 along with South Africa national cricket team, South Africa and India national cricket team, India while the runners up will join West Indies cricket team, West Indies and England cricket team, England in Group D. International Cricket Council
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the global Sports governing body, governing body of cricket. It was founded as the Imperial Cricket Conference in 1909 by representatives from Australia, England, and South Africa. Mirwais Ashraf Khan () (born June 30, 1988) is an Afghan cricketer who plays for the national cricket team and has served as Chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board since 6 November 2021. Khan is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler. Career Ashraf made his One Day International (ODI) debut against the Netherlands at the VRA Cricket Ground on 30 August 2009. Karim Khan Sadiq (; born 28 February 1984) is an Afghan cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman who occasionally serves as a wicket-keeper for the Afghanistan national team. He can also bowl off break, and took 4 wickets for 27 runs against Denmark in their first match of the 2009 ICC World Cup Qualifier. Early career Sadiq is a part of the rapidly rising Afghan cricket team that in under a year has won the World Cricket League Division Five, Division Four and Division Three, thus promoting them to Division Two and allowing them to partake in the 2009 ICC World Cup Qualifier's. Hamid Hassan (; born 1 June 1987) is a former Afghan cricketer. He is a right-arm fast bowler and a right-handed batsman who mainly plays as a bowler. He made his international debut in April 2009. Early life and career Hassan was born in 1987. He is the second of three sons; Rashid being his elder brother and Shamshad the younger one. When Hassan was six years old, his family fled fighting in their home district of Bati Kot near Jalalabad, Afghanistan to go to Pakistan as refugees. Mohammad Asghar Afghan (; born Mohammad Asghar Stanikzai) is an Afghan former cricketer who had captained the Afghanistan national cricket team. Asghar is a right-handed batsman and a medium-fast bowler. In May 2018, he was named as the captain of Afghanistan, for their inaugural Test match, against India. He made his Test debut, against India, on 14 June 2018. On 2 August 2018, he changed his last name from Stanikzai to Afghan. Nawroz Mangal (born Nawroz Khan Mangal) (نوروز خان منګل; born 28 November 1984) is a former cricketer from Afghanistan. Mangal is a former captain of the Afghanistan national cricket team who is known for leading Afghanistan to the prestigious ODI status.
