Simonetta Sommaruga (2007)
Simonetta Myriam Sommaruga (born 14 May 1960) is a Swiss politician who has served as a List of members of the Swiss Federal Council, Member of the Swiss Federal Council since 2010. A member of the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland, Social Democratic Party (SP/PS), she was President of the Swiss Confederation in 2015 and 2020. A former director of the Consumer Protection Foundation, which merged into the Swiss Alliance of Consumer Organisations in 2010, Sommaruga has headed the Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications since 2019, previously heading the Federal Department of Justice and Police (2010–2018). She served as Vice President of Switzerland for 2014 and 2019. Sommaruga assumed the role of President of the Swiss Confederation in 2015, before returning to the position in 2020. Fulvio Pelli (born 26 January 1951) is a Swiss politician. He was the last president of the Free Democratic Party prior to its merger with the Liberal Party of Switzerland. After the merger of the two parties, he served as the first president of FDP.The Liberals from 2009 to 2012. Pelli was a member of the Swiss National Council from 1995 to 2014. Christa Markwalder
Christa Markwalder (born 27 July 1975) is a Swiss politician and former President of the National Council. Markwalder studied jurisprudence and ecology at the University of Bern. She then worked as an assistant at the Institute for European and International Economic Law at the University of Bern. Since January 2008 she has been working as a lawyer for Zurich Financial Services. Politics Markwalder joined the Young Liberals and sat in the city council of Burgdorf between 1999 and 2002. Rudolf "Ruedi" Noser (born 14 April 1961, Glarus, Switzerland) is a Swiss businessman and politician ( FDP.The Liberals). Elections to the Swiss Federal Assembly, the federal parliament of Switzerland, were held on Sunday, 21 October 2007. In a few cantons, a second round of the elections to the Council of States was held on 11 November, 18 November, and 25 November 2007. For the 48th legislative term of the federal parliament (2007–2011), voters in 26 cantons elected all 200 members of the National Council as well as 43 out of 46 members of the Council of States.
