2010 Super GT Series
The 2010 Autobacs Super GT Series was the eighteenth season of the Japan Automobile Federation Super GT Championship including the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC) era and the sixth season as the Super GT series. It also marked the twenty-eighth season of a JAF-sanctioned sports car racing championship dating back to the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship. In GT300 class, Group GT3 cars were eligible to enter as name of category F. In both classes, every race was won by a different pairing, with the Weider Honda Racing duo Takashi Kogure and Loïc Duval eventually becoming GT500 champions for the first time, giving the Honda HSV-010 GT a championship-winning début season. Takashi Kogure
is a Japanese racing driver who currently competes in Super GT, driving the No. 88 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo 2 for JLOC in the GT300 class. He is the reigning champion of Super GT's GT300 class alongside teammate Yuya Motojima. He previously competed in Super GT's flagship GT500 class, winning the championship in 2010 alongside Loïc Duval, making him one of only three drivers in Super GT history to win championship titles in both classes. He also competed in Super Formula (known as Formula Nippon until 2013) for fifteen seasons between 2003 and 2017. Yuji Ide
(born 21 January 1975) is a Japanese racing driver. He is the 2005 Formula Nippon runner-up and the 2010 Suzuka 1000km winner. He competed in Formula One with the Super Aguri team in 2006, but was demoted to third driver after four races and subsequently lost his FIA Super Licence. Early career Born in Saitama, Saitama, Ide started his racing career in 1990 with kart racing. In 1991, he won the Kantou National Cup Kart Championship. Ralph David Firman Jr. (born 20 May 1975) is a British and Irish former racing driver who last raced under an Irish licence. His father, Ralph Firman Sr., co-founded the Van Diemen racecar constructor with Ross Ambrose, father of V8 Supercars champion Marcos, then more recently founded RFR. He is married to Aldís Kristín Árnadóttir, an Icelandic UK-educated lawyer. Ralph's sister, Natasha, is also a racing driver. The Honda HR-09E and Honda HR-10EG are 3.4-liter, naturally-aspirated, V8 racing engines, developed and produced by Honda for use in Formula Nippon and Super GT, starting in 2009. HR10EG The HR10EG V8 engine was based on the HR09E built for Formula Nippon. On December 22, 2009, Honda announced the HSV-010 GT as the successor to the NSX Super GT in the Super GT series. For the 2011 season, the HSV-010 GT's radiator was divided in two and relocated to the sides of the car, with the goal of quicker cornering via a reduced moment of inertia with respect to yaw. Autobacs Racing Team Aguri (ARTA) is a joint racing project formed between former F1 driver Aguri Suzuki and Autobacs in 1997. The team's original name was "ARTA F1 Project," but due to trademark claims based on the usage of the word "F1", the name has since been shortened to "ARTA". Björn Karl Mikael Wirdheim (born 4 April 1980) is a Swedish professional racing driver. He is the son of Örnulf Wirdheim, also a racing driver. Björn began racing karts, competing in his first race, at the age of 10. His main achievement to date is becoming the International Formula 3000 Champion in 2003. A V8 engine is an eight- cylinder piston engine in which two banks of four cylinders share a common crankshaft and are arranged in a V configuration. Origins The first known V8 was the Antoinette, designed by Léon Levavasseur, and built in 1904 by the French Antoinette company for use in speedboat racing, cars, and later, airplanes.
