2010 Ordos Superleague Formula Round
The 2010 Ordos Superleague Formula round was a Superleague Formula round held on October 3, 2010, at the newly built Ordos International Circuit, Ordos City, China. It was Superleague Formula's first visit to China, and is followed the week after by a round through the streets of Beijing. It was the tenth round of the 2010 Superleague Formula season. Beijing Guoan Superleague Formula team is the racing team of Beijing Guoan, a football team that competes in China in the Chinese Super League. 2010 Superleague Formula Season
The 2010 Superleague Formula season was the third Superleague Formula championship. The series was rebranded "Superleague Formula by Sonangol Group, Sonangol", due to a two-year deal that began in 2009 Superleague Formula season, the previous season. The first race of the season was on 4 April at Silverstone Circuit, Silverstone and it finished on 24 October at Circuito de Navarra, Navarra after a series record of 12 race weekends in all. The series' prize fund was increased to Euro, €5 million, with the championship-winning team winning €1 million. Superleague Formula was an Open wheel car, open wheel single seater Formula racing, motor racing formula, which started in 2008, at Donington Park in the United Kingdom. The league introduced team sponsorship by association football clubs. It used the slogan 'The Beautiful Race: Football at 300 km/h'. By 2011 the link with football was fading with more than half the teams no longer associated with football teams. It was founded by businessmen Alex Andreu and Robin Webb. On 19 May 2010, Andreu stepped down in his role as series president, with Alfredo Brisac named as his successor not many weeks later. Ordos International Circuit (), built in 2010, is a motorsport facility located in Kangbashi New Area, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, China. It hosted a round of the China Touring Car Championship, Scirocco Cup China and Superleague Formula in 2010. The circuit is long with 18 corners and resembles a galloping horse. History Orodos International Circuit opened in 2010 and is the first track that was designed and developed entirely by the Chinese. Taking its inspiration from the local culture, the unusual track layout mimics the shape of a horse dashing, while its main grandstand features a roofline in the shape of a swooping eagle.
