2010 Bergen International Film Festival
The 2010 Bergen International Film Festival was arranged in Bergen, Norway 20th-27 October 2010, and was the 11th edition of the festival. It featured over 150 feature films and documentaries, and had an attendance over 45,000, both numbers a new record for the festival. Bergen International Film Festival
The Bergen International Film Festival (BIFF) is a film festival held annually in October in Bergen, Norway since 2000, and is the largest film festival in the nation in number of films. The festival celebrated its 20th edition in 2019, featuring more than 150 films in the program. The festival leader is Tor Fosse, and BIFF is owned by Bergen Cinema. The festival´s main venue is Bergen Cinema's Magnus Barefoot Cinema Centre, with additional screenings taking place at the local art film theatre Cinemateket at Georgernes Verft and at the student cinema at Kvarteret. History In 2000, Bergen was a European Capital of Culture. Raoul Peck
Raoul Peck (born 9 September 1953 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti) is a Haitian filmmaker, of both documentary and feature films. He is known for using historical, political, and personal characters to tackle and recount societal issues and historical events. Peck was Haiti's Minister of Culture from 1996 to September 1997. His film '' I Am Not Your Negro'' (2016), about the life of James Baldwin and race relations in the United States, was nominated for an Oscar in January 2017 and won a César Award in France. Peck's HBO documentary miniseries, ''Exterminate All the Brutes'' (2021), received a Peabody Award. Robert Barry Ptolemy (born 1969) is an American film director, producer and writer. Ptolemy directed '' Transcendent Man'' (2009) a documentary film about futurist and inventor Ray Kurzweil. Life Ptolemy was born in Los Angeles, California. His father introduced him to computers at an early age, giving him a lifelong interest in technology. At the age of 12, Ptolemy worked with Steven Spielberg on the set of ''E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial'' (1982) as an animal wrangler.
