2010 Baden Masters
The 2010 Baden Masters was held September 10-12 in Baden, Switzerland. It was the first event of the Men's World Curling Tour for the 2010-11 curling season. The total purse of the event was 26,500 Swiss francs (CHF). The winning team was the hometown Thomas Lips rink which defeated the new Brad Gushue/Randy Ferbey combination team in the final. Lips' team would win 10,000 CHF. In the bronze medal game, Norway's Thomas Ulsrud defeated Sweden's Niklas Edin. Baden, Switzerland
Baden ( German for "baths"), sometimes unofficially, to distinguish it from other Badens, called Baden bei Zürich ("Baden near Zürich") or Baden im Aargau ("Baden in the Aargau"), is a town and a municipality in Switzerland. Tom Brewster
Thomas Brewster Jr. (born 10 April 1974) is a Scottish curler from Aberdeen, Scotland. He is currently the coach of the Ross Paterson men's team. Career Brewster is a former World Junior champion, having won the title in 1995. The Scottish team which consisted of Paul Westwood, Ronald Brewster, Steve Still and David Murdoch finished 8–1 after the round robin, and defeated Sweden's Henrik Edlund and then Germany's Daniel Herberg to win the championship. Brewster has skipped Scotland to two European Mixed titles, in 2006 and in 2009. Brewster has been a frequent participant in World Curling Tour events, perhaps more so than the more successful Scottish teams. He has won a total of six WCT events, all European events. Markku Uusipaavalniemi (born 23 November 1966 in Karkkila) is a Finnish curler and former politician. Curling career Uusipaavalniemi was the skip of Team Finland for the first time in the mid-1990s. Most (but not all) of Finland's curling medals have been achieved with Uusipaavalniemi as skip. Uusipaavalniemi's team won the European championship in 2000. He is also a two-time World Curling Championships bronze medalist (1998 and 2000) and two-time European Curling Championships bronze medalist (1999 and 2001). Uusipaavalniemi's Finland team disappointingly finished fifth at the 2002 Olympic tournament. Jiří Snítil (born 24 February 1975) is a curler from the Czech Republic. He currently skips the Czech Republic national team. He started curling at the age of 21. Snítil has represented the Czech Republic in seven World Curling Championships (2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015). His best placing so far at a world championship was 7th in 2014. Claudio Pescia
Claudio Pescia (born 17 November 1963 in Zurich) is a Swiss curler from Unterägeri. Originally the skip of the Italian national team, Pescia now skips under the Swiss flag. From 1994 to 1998, Pescia skipped the Italian team in five European Curling Championships, finishing in fourth place in 1995. During that time period, he also skipped the Italian team at the 1996 Ford World Curling Championships, where Italy finished in eighth. Pescia then moved to Switzerland, to play third for Ralph Stöckli. He played at the 2002 and 2005 European Championships with him, the 2003 and 2006 World Championships and the 2006 Winter Olympics. Daniel Neuner
Daniel Neuner (born 25 October 1987 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, West Germany) is a German male curler. He has represented Germany at several international championships, including at two World Junior Championships and a World Men's Championship. Curling career As a junior Neuner skipped Team Germany in back-to-back years at the World Junior Championships, in 2007 and 2008. His teams finished 8th and 6th, respectively. Neuner competed in his first European Men's Curling Championship in 2012 as lead for skip Andreas Lang. The team also included third Daniel Herberg (a two-time Olympian), second Markus Messenzehl, and Andreas Kempf as alternate. The tournament went poorly for Team Germany, their only win coming over Hungary's György Nagy. Mark Neeleman (curler)
Mark Jacobus Louis Neeleman (born 16 April 1959, in Baghdad, Iraq) is a sailor from the Netherlands. Since the Netherlands did boycott the Moscow Olympic Games Neeleman represented his National Olympic Committee at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Tallinn, USSR under the Dutch NOC flag. Neeleman took 8th place in the 1980 Summer Olympics, which was boycotted by several countries. In 1984 Summer Olympics, Los Angeles Neeleman did a second attempt in the Finn and finished on the 9th place. Neeleman missed the selection for the 1988 Olympics, Pusan. After that he switched to the Star. With crew member Jos Schrier at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona Neeleman took 4th place. Again in the Star and again with Jos Schrier, Neeleman took 6th place in the 2000 Summer Olympics, Sydney. His last Olympic appearance was in the 2004 Athens Olympics. David Matthew Murdoch (born 17 April 1978) is a retired Scottish curler from Stirling. As the Scotland skip, he and his former team of Ewan MacDonald, Warwick Smith, Euan Byers and Peter Smith are the 2006 and 2009 World Curling Champions. Representing Great Britain, he has been skip at three Winter Olympics, Torino 2006, finishing fourth, Vancouver 2010, finishing fifth and Sochi 2014, where he won an Olympic silver medal.
