2010 Australian Short Course Swimming Championships
The 2010 Australian Short Course Swimming Championships were held at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre from Wednesday 14 July to Sunday 18 July. They were organised by Swimming Australia and sponsored by Telstra. The events were spread over five days of competition featuring heats in the morning, with semifinals and finals in the evening session. The format of the meet consisted of heats for all individual events with semifinals in the 50 and 100 m individual events. The 200 and 400 m events consisted of A and B finals with no semifinals whilst the 800 and 1500 m freestyle and relay events consisted of timed finals only. Brisbane Aquatic Centre
The Sleeman Centre (also known as Sleeman Sports Complex) is a sporting and entertainment facility located in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Construction of the centre was completed in 1982. Located on Old Cleveland Road in the suburb of Chandler, the centre is east of Brisbane's CBD and is home to an aquatic centre, velodrome, sports arena, gymnastics training hall, gymnasium, and auditorium. The centre currently offers a range of services to the public, including indoor and outdoor community activities such as swimming, diving, health and fitness classes, a gymnasium, childcare facilities, and a children's pool and water slide. Benjamin Treffers
Benjamin Treffers (born 15 August 1991) is an Australian competitive swimmer who has participated in the FINA world championships and Commonwealth Games. Treffers is the current Australian Record Holder in the 50m backstroke event Treffers also won the title of 2012 Australian Champion in the 50m backstroke event and is trained by the Australian Institute of Sport. Geoff Huegill
Geoffrey Andrew Huegill (born 4 March 1979) is an Australian swimmer and dual Olympian who won seventy-two international medals, including two medals in Olympics and six world champion titles, throughout his career. He held eight world records, including 50 metres butterfly. Huegill has been recognised as technically the best butterflier and was the dominant butterfly champion during the early 2000s. Affectionately known as 'Skippy', he is the nation's favourite comeback kid. Christian David Sprenger (born 19 December 1985) is an Australian former breaststroke swimmer. He trains at the Commercial Swimming Club under Simon Cusack. Swimming career At the 2008 Australian Swimming Championships he qualified in the 100- and 200-metre breaststroke, placing second in both events to qualify for the Olympics in Beijing.
