Eccellenza Abruzzo is the regional Eccellenza football division for clubs in Abruzzo, Italy. It is competed amongst 18 teams and the winner is promoted to Serie D (usually to Girone F). The clubs that finishes between the second and the fifth place also have a chance to gain promotion. Lega Nazionale Dilettanti
The Lega Nazionale Dilettanti (National Amateur League) is the league which rules amateur football of Italian Football Federation (FIGC) in Italy. The Eccellenza (, "excellence") is the fifth level (since 2014–15) of Italy, Italian Association football, football. It is a regional league, composed of 28 divisions divided geographically. All 20 regions are represented by at least one division except for Piedmont and Aosta Valley which share 2 divisions. Veneto, Tuscany, Sicily, Emilia-Romagna and Campania also have 2 divisions each, while the regions of Lombardy and Lazio have 3 divisions. 2009 L'Aquila Earthquake
An earthquake occurred in the region of Abruzzo, in central Italy, at 03:32 Central European Time#Central European Summer Time, CEST (01:32 Coordinated Universal Time, UTC) on 6 April 2009. It was rated 5.8 or 5.9 on the Richter scale and 6.3 on the moment magnitude scale; its epicentre was near L'Aquila, the capital of Abruzzo, which together with surrounding villages suffered the most damage. There were several thousand foreshocks and aftershocks since December 2008, more than thirty of which had a Richter magnitude greater than 3.5. Avezzano Calcio A.S.D., commonly known as Avezzano ( ), is an Italian football club based in Avezzano, Abruzzo, who compete in , the fourth tier of the Italian football league system. History The club was founded in 1919 and refounded in 1998 and 2009. In 1996–1997 it played in Serie C1, the highest level reached by the team. Avezzano ( ; ) is a city and comune in the Abruzzo region, province of L'Aquila, Italy. It is the second most populous municipality in the province and the sixth in the region.
