2009 Speedway Grand Prix Of Europe
The 2009 FIM Speedway European World Championship Grand Prix was the second race of the 2009 Speedway Grand Prix season. It took place on 9 May 2009, in the Alfred Smoczyk Stadium in Leszno, Poland. On 9 May European Union celebrates Europe day, commemorating the Schuman declaration. The main sponsor was the Polish websitotoMoto.pl The European SGP was won by Australian rider Jason Crump. Riders The Speedway Grand Prix Commission nominated Jarosław Hampel as the wild card for the Grand Prix. Damian Baliński and Janusz Kołodziej were nominated as the track reserves. He has won the silver medal and the bronze medal twice at the Speedway World Championship, in addition to the world team championship in 2015. Career Born in Örebro, Sweden. Career history Early career Harris began his racing career at the age of six and a half by competing in grasstrack events. Grzegorz Walasek (born 29 August 1976) is a Polish motorcycle speedway rider who has competed in the Speedway Grand Prix series and earned 15 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Career Born in Krosno Odrzańskie, Poland, Walasek began his senior career in 1993 with ZKŻ Zielona Góra, and won the Polish Under-21 Championship in 1997. Kenneth Bjerre Jensen (born 24 May 1984 in Esbjerg, Denmark) is a Danish international motorcycle speedway rider. He earned 17 caps for the Denmark national speedway team. Rune Holta (born 29 August 1973 in Stavanger, Norway) is a speedway rider. He grew up in Randaberg, Norway, but has been a Polish citizen since 2002. Career In 1994, Holta finished runner-up to Mikael Karlsson in the final of the 1994 Speedway Under-21 World Championship following a run-off for the title. This was the same year that Holta won the first of his four Norwegian Individual Speedway Championships.
