2009 California Elections
The California state special elections, 2009 were held on May 19, 2009, throughout the state of California. The elections were authorized by the California State Legislature, State Legislature and Governor of California, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as a part of a budget signed into law on February 19, 2009. Voters voted on six California ballot proposition, ballot propositions, 1A through 1F, for the open California's 26th State Senate district, 26th California State Senate, State Senate district seat, and in a primary for the open California's 32nd congressional district, 32nd congressional district seat. Culver City Unified School District
Culver City Unified School District, abbreviated CCUSD, is a school district located in Culver City, California that serves approximately 6,500 pupils in a variety of schools. The Culver City Unified School District primarily consists of five K-5 elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. It also includes an alternative high school, an independent study school, an adult school and a preschool program. The current district superintendent is Dr. Brian Lucas as of January 2024. Bronny James played in his Crossroads School debut against Culver City Middle School. He scored 27 points in a 61–48 victory. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors (LACBOS) is the five-member Board of Supervisors, governing body of Los Angeles County, California, United States. History On April 1, 1850 the citizens of Los Angeles elected a three-man Court of Sessions as their first governing body. A total of 377 votes were cast in this election. In 1852, the Legislature dissolved the Court of Sessions and created a five-member Board of Supervisors. Mark Ridley-Thomas
Mark Ridley-Thomas (born November 6, 1954) is an American former politician and convicted felon. He spent three terms on the Los Angeles City Council from the 8th district from 1991 to 2002, and again for the 10th district from 2020 until his expulsion from the council in 2022. He was a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for the 2nd Supervisorial District from 2008 to 2020, a California State Senator representing the 26th district from 2006 to 2008, and was a California State Assemblyman representing the 48th district from 2002 until 2006.
