2009 British Academy Scotland Awards
The 2009 British Academy Scotland Awards were held on 8 November 2009 at the Glasgow Science Centre, honouring the best Scottish film and television productions of 2009. Presented by BAFTA Scotland, accolades are handed out for the best in feature-length film that were screened at British cinemas during 2008. The Nominees were announced on 17 October 2009. The list caused some controversy for the lack of film actresses making the nominations. The ceremony was hosted by Lorraine Kelly. Bill Forsyth, Jeremy Isaacs, David Jones and Patrick Doyle were honoured with Outstanding Contribution awards at this ceremony. Glasgow Science Centre
Glasgow Science Centre is a visitor attraction located in the Clyde Waterfront Regeneration area on the south bank of the River Clyde in Glasgow, Scotland. Queen Elizabeth II opened Glasgow Science Centre on 5 July 2001. It is one of Scotland's most popular paid-for visitor attractions. It is a purpose-built science centre composed of three principal buildings: Science Mall, Glasgow Tower and an IMAX Movie theater, cinema. It is a Charitable organization, registered charity under Scottish law. The Scottish tourist board, VisitScotland, awarded Glasgow Science Centre a five star rating in the visitor attraction category. Richard Jobson (television Presenter)
Richard Jobson (born 6 October 1960) is a Scottish filmmaker (director, writer, producer) who also works as a television presenter. He is also known as the singer-songwriter of the band Skids. Early life Jobson was born in Kirkcaldy and grew up in Crosshill and Ballingry in Fife, the son of a miner and a worker at Rosyth Dockyard. He attended St Columba's Roman Catholic High School, Dunfermline. His family were of Irish Catholic descent. Skids Jobson is the lead singer with the punk rock group Skids, whose original run was from 1977-1982. Jobson's singing-style with Skids was highly distinctive, and he wrote the lyrics, while Stuart Adamson wrote most of the music. Daniela Nardini
Daniela Nardini (born 26 April 1968, Largs) is a Scottish actress who played Anna Forbes in the BBC Two television series '' This Life''. The role earned her a BAFTA Best Actress award in 1998 and also earned her a Scottish BAFTA. She won a second Scottish BAFTA in 2009 for her role in Annie Griffin's ''New Town''. Early life and education Nardini was educated at St Mary's Primary School in Largs, a Catholic primary school; her secondary school was Largs Academy, the local mixed-religion comprehensive. The Unloved
''The Unloved'' is a British television film starring Molly Windsor, Robert Carlyle, Susan Lynch and Lauren Socha. It is about an eleven-year-old girl called Lucy (Windsor) growing up in a children's home in the UK's care system, and shown through her perspective.
