The 2009 Banja Luka Challenger was a professional tennis tournament played on Clay court, outdoor red clay courts. It was the eighth edition of the tournament which was part of the 2009 ATP Challenger Tour. It took place in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina between 14 and 20 September 2009. Banja Luka ( sr-Cyrl, Бања Лука, ) or Banjaluka ( sr-Cyrl, Бањалука, ) is the List of cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, second largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the largest city in Republika Srpska. Julian Reister
Julian Reister (; born 2 April 1986) is a German retired professional tennis player. His career-high singles ranking is world No. 83, achieved in November 2013. Reister reached the quarterfinals of Buenos Aires in 2013 as a qualifier. Career 2006 Reister qualified for his first ATP World Tour tournament at Basel where he lost in the first round to Guillermo García-López 6–7(4), 2–6. 2007 Reister entered Basel as a qualifier where he lost in the first round to Roko Karanušić 0–6, 3–6. 2010 Reister qualified into the main draw at Brisbane where he lost in the first round to Florent Serra 7–6(3), 6–7(5), 5–7. Reister next qualified into the main draw at the French Open. He defeated 27th seed Feliciano López in the first round 6–1, 7–6(5), 6–2 to record his first ever ATP World Tour victory. Simone Vagnozzi
Simone Vagnozzi (; born 30 May 1983) is an Italian former professional tennis player. Vagnozzi had a career high ATP singles ranking of world No. 161 achieved on 7 November 2011. He also had a career high ATP doubles ranking of world No. 74 achieved on 4 April 2011. Vagnozzi made his ATP Tour singles debut at the 2004 Grand Prix Hassan II on clay courts in Casablanca, Morocco when he successfully advanced through three qualifying rounds to reach his first career main draw. In qualifying he defeated Talal Ouahabi, followed by leading Thomas Shimada ''6–0, 2–0'' when he had to retire from the match, and finally Björn Rehnquist to gain a main draw birth.
