The 2008 Shakey's V-League (SVL) season was the fifth season of the Shakey's V-League. There were two indoor conferences for this season. 1st Conference The Shakey's V-League 5th Season 1st Conference was the seventh conference of Shakey's V-League, a collegiate women's volleyball league in the Philippines founded in 2004. The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a women's professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The league began in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League, a women's collegiate league. Since 2011, the league became open to participation of corporate clubs and other non-collegiate teams. The Spikers' Turf has served as the men's counterpart of the league. The 2009 Shakey's V-League (SVL) season was the sixth season of the Shakey's V-League. There were two indoor conferences for this season. 1st Conference The Shakey's V-League 6th Season 1st Conference was the ninth conference of Shakey's V-League, a collegiate women's volleyball league in the Philippines founded in 2004. The conference started April 19, 2009 at the Filoil Flying V Centre (formerly The Arena), San Juan. UAAP champion La Salle decided not to compete and took a leave of absence; UP replaced the Lady Archers to complete the eight-team elimination round roster. Aiza Maizo-Pontillas
Aiza Maizo-Pontillas (born February 29, 1988) is a Filipina professional volleyball player. She was a former member and team captain of the UST Golden Tigresses, and a member of the Philippines women's national volleyball team. She led the España-based squad to its 16th and, as of 2018, latest championship in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) league. She was a Shakey's V-League (SVL) three-time Finals and two-time Season Most Valuable Player. Maizo is known for bagging several best-of awards in almost all volleyball skill departments in UAAP and SVL, excluding setting and digging. She is also known as the first Filipina in the entire franchise of SVL to take both Finals and Season MVP in a single conference twice. Tatan Pantone
Lizlee Ann "Tatan" Gata-Pantone (born 17 August 1988) is a retired Filipino volleyball player who last played for PLDT Home Fibr of the 2019 PSL Grand Prix Conference. She was a member of the collegiate varsity volleyball team of Adamson University in both indoor and beach volleyball. She played for PLDT Home Ultera Ultra Fast Hitters where she helped the team in winning multiple championships. Pantone was also a member of Philippines national team. She holds the record in the UAAP with the most number of digs and receptions in a single game tallying 77 excellent digs and 63 excellent receptions. Career Gata-Pantone studied at Adamson University. She was dubbed as the Legendary Libero. Charo Soriano
Maria Rosario "Charo" Soriano (born October 14, 1985) is a Filipino volleyball player, coach, and politician. Soriano is one of the founders of Beach Volleyball Republic, an outdoor volleyball tournament, and a board member of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation. She also serves as a city councilor of Tuguegarao since 2022. Volleyball career During her collegiate playing career for the Ateneo Lady Eagles, she played indoor and beach volleyball. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996.
