The 2008 PGA EuroPro Tour, titled as the 2008 Ivobank PGA EuroPro Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the seventh season of the PGA EuroPro Tour, one of four third-tier tours recognised by the European Tour. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2008 season. Order of Merit The Order of Merit was based on prize money won during the season, calculated in Pound sterling. The top five players on the tour (not otherwise exempt) earned status to play on the 2009 Challenge Tour. Simon Thornton
Simon Thornton (born 18 March 1977) is an Irish professional golfer. He won the 2013 Najeti Hotels et Golfs Open on the European Tour. Career Thornton was a late starter to golf, only taking up the sport in his late teens and turning professional at the advanced age of 28. He began as an assistant club professional at Royal County Down, playing in regional Irish PGA events, where his achievements included recording four straight monthly wins with the Ulster Golfers Alliance. He began playing on the Challenge Tour in 2009, finishing 51st before earning his European Tour card at qualifying school at the end of the season. His debut season on the full tour was unsuccessful, and he returned to the Challenge Tour for 2011, finishing in 12th position to secure a quick return to the European Tour. John Parry (golfer)
John Anthony Parry (born 17 November 1986) is an English professional golfer. Parry was born in Harrogate. He won several high-profile amateur tournaments including the Danish and Spanish Amateur Championships, and represented Great Britain and Ireland in the Walker Cup before turning professional at the end of 2007. Parry won the 2009 Allianz Golf Open Grand Toulouse on the Challenge Tour. He ended that season in 14th place on the Challenge Tour Rankings to earn his card on the top level European Tour for 2010. During his rookie season he won the inaugural Vivendi Cup to secure a one-year exemption on the tour. Parry was unable to follow up his win and in 2021, he was playing on the third-tier PGA EuroPro Tour. Matt Ford (golfer)
Matthew James Ford (born 19 April 1978) is an English professional golfer. Ford has played mostly on the Challenge Tour except for two seasons, 2015 and 2016, when he played on the European Tour. Professional career Ford qualified for the European Tour after finishing fourth in the 2014 European Tour qualifying school. He had a good start to 2015, finishing second in the Africa Open in March. He finished the season at 105th in the Order of Merit to retain his card for 2016. However he finished 131st in the Order of Merit in 2016 and returned to the Challenge Tour. Except for his two season on the European Tour, Ford has played on the Challenge Tour since 2010. He has not won the tour but has been runner-up four times. Daniel Gaunt (golfer)
Daniel Stephen Gaunt (born 14 November 1978) is an Australian professional golfer. Gaunt was born in Lancefield, Victoria near Melbourne. His brother Chris is also a professional golfer. He lives in New Malden, England, with his wife, Caroline, and four children. He tied with Terry Pilkadaris for the Australian Medal in 1997 and turned professional in 1999. His nickname "Peter Pan" comes from the fact he’s always fighting a hook. Gaunt qualified for the European Tour via qualifying school at the end of 2003. He was unable to retain his card, and has played predominantly on lower level tours since 2005. He has won several events on those tours including four victories on the third-tier PGA EuroPro Tour. Ricardo Santos (born 7 September 1982) is a Portuguese professional golfer who plays on the Challenge Tour. He won the 2012 Madeira Islands Open. Professional career Santos turned professional in 2006. From 2007 to 2011 he played regularly on the Challenge Tour. In 2007, he was given an invite to the Madeira Islands Open on the European Tour, and led after the first round. Noel Peter Fox (August 30, 1910 – June 3, 1987) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan. Education and career Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Fox received a Bachelor of Philosophy degree from Marquette University in 1933 and a Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School in 1935.
