2008 OFC U-20 Championship
The 2008 OFC Under 20 Qualifying Tournament was held in Papeete, Tahiti. The tournament was won by hosts Tahiti after their final win against Fiji and a 2–2 draw between New Caledonia and New Zealand which prevented either team from qualification and was the first tournament since 1974 to be won by a nation that was not Australia or New Zealand. As champions, Tahiti qualified for the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Greg Draper
Gregory Alexander Draper (born 13 August 1989) is an English-born New Zealand footballer and coach who is currently a player-coach with The New Saints under-21s. Early life Draper was born and raised in Chard, Somerset, before his parents decided to emigrate to Christchurch in New Zealand when he was 12 years old. Club career Having begun playing youth football at the age of ten, Draper joined Canterbury United shortly after moving to New Zealand. Having played for a number of clubs in Australia and New Zealand, Draper joined English non-league club Basingstoke Town in August 2010 and made his competitive debut for the club on 17 August against St. Albans. OFC U-20 Championship
The OFC U-19 Championship is a tournament held once every two years to decide the under-19 champions of Oceania and also decides who will represent Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) at the biennial FIFA U-20 World Cup. Between 1974 and 2012, the competition was open to teams under 20 years of age and called the OFC U-20 Championship. Since 2014, the age limit was darkreduced to under 19 years of age, and since 2018, the tournament name was changed to the OFC U-19 Championship.
