The Georgia Force season was the seventh season for the franchise. Starting the season 3–5, the Force finished the regular season with 7 wins in their last 8 games, ending with a 10–6 record, and winning their second consecutive Southern Division title, allowing them to enter the playoffs as the 2nd seed in the National Conference. Doug Plank
Douglas Walter Plank (born March 4, 1953) is a former American football safety and coach in the National Football League. Early life Plank attended Norwin High School in North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, where he played baseball, basketball, and football. His high school baseball batting average of .526 stood as a school record for over 30 years. Following his senior football season, Plank was voted MVP of the WPIAL’s Foothills Conference. He then played football for The Ohio State University, winning three Big Ten titles and participating in three consecutive Rose Bowls under legendary coach Woody Hayes. NFL playing career In 1975, Plank was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 12th round. He spent his entire eight-year NFL playing career with the Bears. Duluth is a city in Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States. Located north of Interstate 85, it is approximately northeast of Atlanta. Dallas Desperados
The Dallas Desperados were a professional arena football team based in Dallas, Texas. The Desperados played in the Eastern Division of the Arena Football League from 2002 to 2008. The franchise began play in as an expansion team, and have posted a winning record in all but one of their seasons in existence. The team was owned by Jerry Jones, who also owns the Dallas Cowboys. Jones' son-in-law Shy Anderson was the COO of the team, and oversaw the day-to-day operations of the franchise. The team folded effective August 4, 2009, upon the dissolving of the original AFL. 2008 Cleveland Gladiators Season
The Cleveland Gladiators season is the 12th season for the franchise, their first season in Cleveland. The Gladiators finished the regular season with a 9–7 record, and made the playoffs as the 4th seed in the National Conference. In the wild-card round of the playoffs, they defeated the Orlando Predators, 69–66. For their Divisional round game, they defeated the Georgia Force 73–70. In the National Conference Championship however, they were defeated 70–35 by the top-seeded Philadelphia Soul. The SAP Center at San Jose (originally known as San Jose Arena and the HP Pavilion at San Jose) is an indoor arena located in San Jose, California. Its primary tenant is the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, for which the arena has earned the nickname "The Shark Tank". The San Jose SaberCats season was the 14th season for the franchise. The SaberCats looked to improve on their 13–3 record from 2007 and defend their ArenaBowl title. Finishing the regular season with an 11–5 record, though not as successful as the previous season, still won them a third consecutive Western Division title, and they went into the playoffs as the 2nd seed in the American Conference. In their Divisional round game, they defeated the Colorado Crush, 64–51, to advance to the American Conference Championship. In that game, the SaberCats defeated the Grand Rapids Rampage 81–55, to advance to their second consecutive ArenaBowl. The Chicago Rush season was the eighth season for the franchise. The Rush finished the regular season 11–5, making the playoffs again as they have in every year of their existence. They won their second consecutive Central Division title, and entered the playoffs as the top seed in the American Conference.
