2008 FIVB World Grand Prix
The FIVB World Grand Prix 2008 was a women's volleyball tournament in which 12 countries competed from 20 June to 12 July 2008. The finals were held in Yokohama Arena, Yokohama, Japan. Cuba, Brazil, Dominican Republic and the United States qualified for the tournament at the 2007 Women's Pan-American Cup in Colima, Mexico. Germany, Turkey, Italy, and Poland qualified through the European Qualifying Tournament in Ankara, Turkey. China, Japan, Thailand, and Kazakhstan qualified as the best four Asian teams. Jaqueline Carvalho
Jaqueline Maria Pereira de Carvalho Endres (born December 31, 1983 in Recife, Brazil) is a Brazilian volleyball player, a member of the Brazilian team that won the Olympic Games at Beijing 2008 and London 2012. Career Club She started her career with Gremio de Volei Osasco in 2002, before moving to Unilever Rio de Janeiro in 2004. In 2006 she moved to play in Europe for Vini Monteschiavo Jesi, later joining Gruppo Murcia 2002 and Scavolini Pesaro. She joined Camponesa-Minas for the 2014/15 season, before moving to play for Sesi-SP. She returned to Minas in November 2016. International She was part of the national team that won the gold medal at the 2011 Pan American Games held in Guadalajara, Mexico. Wei Qiuyue
Wei Qiuyue (; born 26 September 1988) is a retired Chinese volleyball player. She was the captain of China women's national volleyball team between 2008-2012. Career She was part of the bronze medal winning teams at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the silver medal winning teams at the 2007 World Grand Prix. She won the 2010 Montreux Volley Masters with her national team, being awarded "Best Setter". She was named Best Setter at the 2010 World Championship. After a disappointed fifth place at the 2012 Summer Olympics, in 2013 she took a year off from the national team to repair her knee. She also signed with Igtisadchi Baku in 2013-2014 season, along with her former teammates Ma Yunwen and Zhang Lei. This was the first time she played for a club other than Tianjin. Feng Kun
Feng Kun (; born 28 December 1978 in Beijing) is a retired China women's national volleyball team setter and captain. She was awarded MVP and Best Setter award at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where China won the gold medal in volleyball. Career Feng started to play volleyball at the age of 12 and was selected for the Beijing volleyball team at 16. A year later she was selected for the national team. During this time the China team was at a low point after years of world dominance in the sport. However, the team began to rejuvenate and won the Asian Championship in 2001, came fourth in the World Championship in 2002, won the World Cup in 2003, and then went on to win at the Olympic Games in Athens, having defeated reigning champions Cuba and come from two sets down in the final to beat Russia.
