Djurgården will in the 2008 season compete in the Allsvenskan, Svenska Cupen and UEFA Cup Djurgården started the season with 9 matches without a defeat. Djurgårdens IF Fotbollsförening – commonly known as Djurgårdens IF, Djurgården Fotboll (official name), Djurgården (), and (especially locally) Djurgår'n (), Dif or DIF – is a Swedish professional men's association football department of its parent association Djurgårdens IF. Founded 1891 on the island of Djurgården, the club's home ground is 3Arena_(Stockholm), 3Arena, situated in the Johanneshov district of Stockholm. Mattias Jonson
Olof Mattias Jonsson (; born 16 January 1974) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a winger. Starting off his career with Örebro SK in the early 1990s, he went on to represent Helsingborgs IF, Brøndby IF, and Norwich City before retiring at Djurgårdens IF in 2011. A full international between 1996 and 2006, he won 57 caps and scored nine goals for the Sweden national team. He represented his country at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro 2004, and the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Markus Johannesson
Markus Johannesson (born 29 May 1975) is a Swedish former football defender and football commentator. Career Johannesson started his career at Rölanda IF, but moved on to Eds FF and IK Oddevold before he was signed by Örgryte IS in 1997. In 2004, Johannesson left Örgryte IS for Djurgårdens IF. He won The Double with Djurgården in 2005 and was also the captain of the team. He has been capped five times and scored one goal for the Sweden national team. He was later on the 2009 season on the bench for Kebba Ceesay. But later on he took back his place but then as a defensive midfielder where he used to play with Örgryte IS. Johannesson scored his first league goal for Djurgården in his last game against Kalmar FF, helping Djurgården to reach relegation round against Assyriska FF. Pa Dembo Touray
Pa Dembo Touray (born 31 March 1980,), is the goalkeeper coach of Prespa Birlik. He is a former Gambian football goalkeeper and national team player for Gambia. Club career Touray, an English spelling of the name "Touré", began his footballing career with Real de Banjul F.C. in Gambia. In 2000, he moved to Stockholm in Sweden to play for Djurgårdens IF in the highest domestic league, Allsvenskan. Touray spent two respective loan spells with Assyriska FF and Vålerenga IF before returning to Djurgårdens IF following the sale of Swedish international goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson. Kebba Ceesay
Kebba Ceesay (born 14 November 1987) is a Gambian former professional footballer who played as a defender. He also holds Swedish nationality. Career Ceesay joined Djurgården from IK Brage at the start of the 2007 season, and made his Allsvenskan debut for Djurgården in the Stockholm derby against Hammarby IF on 13 August 2007. He usually plays as a right back even though he personally considers himself to be a central defender. Ceesay visited English side Notts County for a trial in November 2009, but no transfer was made. Ceesay made his debut for Gambia against Namibia playing with fellow Djurgården player Pa Dembo Touray. Enrico Cardoso Nazaré (born 4 May 1984, in Belo Horizonte), commonly known as Enrico, is a former Brazilian footballer who played as attacking midfielder. Jan Tauer (born 26 August 1983) is a German former professional footballer who played as a defender. Career Tauer was born in Düsseldorf. He joined Djurgårdens IF from Eintracht Braunschweig at the start of the 2007 season, and made his Allsvenskan debut for Djurgården against IF Brommapojkarna. Prince Ikpe Ekong (born 5 October 1978) is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He is best remembered for representing Reggiana, Shenyang Ginde, Xiamen Lanshi, GAIS, and Djurgårdens IF during his career. Toni Tapio Kuivasto (born 31 December 1975) is a retired Finnish footballer who last played for Veikkausliigaside Haka. Club career Kuivasto started his career at home-town club FC Ilves, making his Veikkausliiga debut in 1992. He also played for MyPa and HJK Helsinki in Finland, before moving abroad to play for Viking FK of the Norwegian Tippeligaen in 2001. After a few years in Norway he wanted new challenges, and he was bought by Djurgården in the summer of 2003. Kuivasto has helped Djurgården to two Swedish championships and two Swedish Cups. Nils Patrik Haginge (born 2 April 1985) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a defender. Club career Haginge started his career at Mellringe-Ekers IF and played there until 2001 when he moved to Örebro SK. He made his Allsvenskan debut against Landskrona BoIS on 18 April 2004. Philip Hellqvist
Philip Hellquist (born 21 May 1991) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a forward for Ettan club Täby FK. Career Hellquist grew up in the Stockholm suburb Kista, and began playing football in Djurgården's youth team at the age of five. He was named for the Swedish U17 national team in a friendly against Latvia in April 2007. The game was his debut in any of the Swedish national teams, and he also scored the last goal in the 6–0 victory.
