The 2007–08 Welsh Premier League was the 16th season of the Welsh Premier League since its establishment in 1992 as the League of Wales. It began on 17 August 2007 and ended on 19 April 2008. Welsh Premier League
The Cymru Premier, known as the JD Cymru Premier for sponsorship reasons, is the national football league of Wales. It has both professional and semi-professional status clubs and is at the top of the Welsh football league system. It was founded in 1992, as the first league representing all of Wales. Prior to 2002, the league was known as the League of Wales (LoW), but changed its name as part of a sponsorship deal to the Welsh Premier League. The league was rebranded as the Cymru Premier for the 2019–20 season. Though formed relatively recently, the league contains some of the oldest clubs in world football. Eleven current or former members of the league were founded in the 1870s or 1880s, with many more formed before the end of the 19th century. The vast majority of its clubs are still owned and run by the local community or by people from the area. Haverfordwest County A
Haverfordwest ( , ; ) is the county town of Pembrokeshire, Wales, and the most populous urban area in Pembrokeshire with a population of 14,596 in 2011. It is also a community consisting of 12,042 people, making it the second most populous community in the county after Milford Haven. The suburbs include the former parish of Prendergast, Albert Town and the residential and industrial areas of Withybush (housing, retail parks, hospital, airport and showground). Marc Lloyd-Williams
Marc Lloyd Williams (born 8 February 1973) is a Welsh former footballer. He is the Welsh Premier League's all-time top scorer, with 319 goals. Career Williams was born in Bangor, and brought up in Llanberis. He has played for a number of clubs including Bangor City (5 spells), TNS, Stockport County, Haugesund, York City, Aberystwyth Town, Halifax Town, Southport, Altrincham, Colwyn Bay, Porthmadog (2 spells), Newtown (2 spells) and Rhyl. Other honours include Wales B international appearances. Welsh Premier championship medal (3), Welsh Cup winner's medal (twice), Welsh Premier Golden Boot award (twice) and Norwegian First Division Championship medal. Goytre () is a village near the town of Port Talbot, Wales. The village lies in the valley of the Nant Ffrwdwyllt, between the communities of Taibach, Cwmafan, Bryn and Margam. The former St Peter's Church (Church in Wales) was a 'tin tabernacle' opened in 1915. Welsh Football League First Division
The Welsh Football League Division One, known as the Nathanielcars.co.uk Welsh League First Division for sponsorship reasons, was a association football, football league in South Wales. It formed the top division of the Welsh Football League and the second level of the Welsh football league system until the 2019–20 season when it was replaced by the Cymru South. From the 2019–20 season it operated at the third level of the Welsh football league system. If the team which finished top of the Division had good enough ground facilities, it was promoted to the Welsh Premier League and was replaced by one of the two teams finishing bottom of the Premiership. If the Division champions' ground did not meet Premiership standards, then the team which finished second may have been promoted. The 2007–08 FAW Welsh Cup is the 121st edition of the annual knockout tournament for non- English competitive football teams in Wales. The 2007–08 tournament commenced on 18 August 2007 and concluded on 4 May 2008. The 2007–08 Welsh Cup winner's are Bangor City. Preliminary round Games were played on 18 August 2007. First round Matches played on 15 September 2007. Second round Matches played on 6 October 2007. Third round Matches played on 3 November 2007. Fourth round Matches played on 2 February 2008. Quarter-finals Matches were played on 1 March 2008 and 2 March 2008. Semi-finals The matches were originally scheduled to be played on the weekend of 29 March 2008, but the Newport YMCA v Bangor City tie was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Porthmadog (), originally Portmadoc until 1972 and known locally as "Port", is a coastal town and community (Wales), community in the Eifionydd area of Gwynedd, Wales, and the historic counties of Wales, historic county of Caernarfonshire. It lies east of Criccieth, south-west of Blaenau Ffestiniog, north of Dolgellau and south of Caernarfon. The community population was 4,185 in the 2011 census and was put at 4,134 in 2019.
