2007–08 NAHL Season
The 2007–08 NAHL season was the 24th season of the North American Hockey League. The regular season ran from September 2007 to April 2008 with a 58-game schedule for each team. The St. Louis Bandits won the regular season championship and went on to defeated the Mahoning Valley Phantoms 5 to 2 to capture the Robertson Cup. Member changes * On February 22, 2007, the Santa Fe RoadRunners announced that they would relocate to Topeka, Kansas for this season. The team retained its nickname. * The NAHL continued its expansion into Alaska with the addition of the Kenai River Brown Bears as an expansion franchise. North American Hockey League
The North American Hockey League (NAHL) is one of the top junior hockey leagues in the United States and is in its 50th season of operation in 2024–25. It is the only Tier II junior league sanctioned by USA Hockey, and acts as an alternative for those who would not or did not make the roster of a team in the Major Junior Canadian Hockey League (CHL) nor Tier I United States Hockey League (USHL). The NAHL is one of the oldest junior hockey leagues in the United States and is headquartered in Addison, Texas. The teams span the United States from Maine in the East to Alaska in the Northwest and to Texas in the South. The teams play a 59-game regular season, usually starting on the 2nd weekend in September and ending near mid-April (2020–21 season is exception, the season started in late 2020-early 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Fargo-Moorhead Jets
The Fargo-Moorhead Jets were a Junior A ice hockey team in the North American Hockey League's central division, and played out of John E. Carlson Coliseum in Fargo, North Dakota. Their inaugural NAHL season was the 2003–2004 season. The team won regular-season division titles in the 2004-2005 and 2006-2007 seasons. On May 19, 2008, the league announced that the team would cease operations after relocation attempts were unsuccessful. Cal Heeter
Calvin Heeter (born November 2, 1988) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender. He most recently played with the Orlando Solar Bears in the ECHL while under contract with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL). He played in one game for the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL) during the 2013–14 season. Playing career Heeter played high school hockey for Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, Missouri. He led CBC to Mid-States High School Championships as the backup goaltender in 2004 and as the starting goaltender in 2005. He played high school hockey for three years at CBC, leaving the program during his senior year to play tier II junior hockey for the Wichita Falls Wildcats of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) for the 2006-07 season. Cody Reichard
Cody Reichard (born February 18, 1987) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently an unrestricted free agent who most recently played for the Evansville Icemen of the ECHL. Playing career He played collegiate hockey with the Miami RedHawks in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. During the 2012–13 season, Reichard appeared in 7 games for the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League, on loan from the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL. On August 21, 2013, Reichard's rights were traded by the Florida Everblades, to the Fort Wayne Komets. On October 10, 2014, Reichard was traded from the Orlando Solar Bears to the Indy Fuel to begin the 2014–15 season. Alaska Avalanche
The Alaska Avalanche were a Tier II junior ice hockey team in the North American Hockey League's West Division. The team played its home games first at the Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Center in Wasilla, Alaska and then at the MTA Events Center in Palmer, Alaska. History In 2005, the Springfield Spirit moved to Wasilla, Alaska, as the 'Wasilla Spirit', only to re-brand themselves as the 'Alaska Avalanche' the next season. Texas Tornado
The Texas Tornado were a Junior A hockey team located in Frisco, Texas, USA. The team joined the North American Hockey League's Central division in 1999 (and moved into the newly formed southern division three years later) while located in North Richland Hills, Texas, and enjoyed unprecedented success since their expansion year. The Tornado played their home games at the 6,000-seat Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco. On May 13, 2006, the Tornado won their third straight Robertson Cup by defeating the Bozeman Icedogs. This accomplishment would be the first time in over 15 years that a team won three consecutive Robertson Cups. On May 8, 2012, the Tornado won their 5th Robertson Cup in team history by defeating the St. Louis Bandits 4-3 in overtime. Fairbanks Ice Dogs
The Fairbanks Ice Dogs are a Tier II junior ice hockey team in the North American Hockey League's Midwest Division. The Ice Dogs play home games at the 2,200-seat Big Dipper Ice Arena in Fairbanks, Alaska. History Originally started in 1997 in the Tier III Junior B Western States Hockey League (WSHL) as a hockey program to replace the Alaska Gold Kings and give Alaskan players a chance to play after they finished high school and/or midgets. The Ice Dogs won the Northern Division its inaugural season, but lost to the Southern champs the following year in exhibition games. USA Hockey National Team Development Program
The United States National Team Development Program (NTDP) represents the United States in the IIHF World U18 Championship. Additionally the team plays domestically against opponents in the United States Hockey League (under-17 and under-18 teams), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (under-18 team), and other international tournaments. The program was started in 1996 by USA Hockey as a way to identify elite ice hockey players under the age of 18, and centralize their training. There are two teams in the program: under-17 and under-18. Both teams are based in Plymouth, Michigan.
