2007–08 Isle Of Man League
The Isle of Man League 2007–08 (known as the Sure Mobile Premier League for sponsorship reasons) was the ninety-ninth such league competition on the Isle of Man. Isle of Man Football League, Football in the Isle of Man is played at an amateur level. There are two tiers of men's football, consisting of 27 clubs. There are six senior cup competitions – the Manx FA Cup, Railway Cup, Hospital Cup, Woods Cup, Paul Henry Gold Cup and the Charity Shield. Each club has a reserve team in the Isle of Man Football Combination, and the Junior Cup for the reserve teams. There is also the Cowell Cup an annual Under-19 tournament. The Isle of Man League team advanced to the semi-finals of the National League Systems Cup 2007–08, after defeating Wearside League 2–1 in the second round, and defeating Liverpool County Premier League 1–0 in the third round. Isle Of Man Football League
The Isle of Man Football League is the senior football league on the Isle of Man and is run by the Isle of Man Football Association. Although the league is affiliated with The Football Association, it does not form a part of the English football league system. History The league's representative XI has won the FA Inter-League Cup on two occasions. In 2006 they beat the Cambridgeshire County League XI and qualified for the 2007 UEFA Regions' Cup, being eliminated in the group stage in Czech Republic. They won the Inter-League Cup again in 2013, but again were eliminated in the group stage of the Regions Cup, this time in Slovakia. Competition format Competition There are 26 clubs in the Isle of Man Football League which are grouped into two divisions: Premier League and Division Two.
