2007–08 Belgian Elite League
The 2007–08 Belgian Elite League pitted eight Belgium, Belgian rugby union, rugby teams. Competition began on 23 September 2007 and ended with the final game on 17 May 2008 at the King Baudouin Stadium. The Boitsfort Rugby Club won the championship by beating ASUB Waterloo in the final of the playoffs by the score of 27-7. Watermael-Boitsfort (French language, French, ) or Watermaal-Bosvoorde (Dutch language, Dutch, ; ), often simply called Boitsfort in French or Bosvoorde in Dutch, is one of the List of municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium. Rugby Ottignies Club
Rugby Ottignies Club is a Belgian rugby union club currently competing in Belgian 2nd Division. The club is based in Louvain-la-Neuve in the Belgian Province of Walloon Brabant. The official colours of the club are yellow and blue. History The club was founded in 1977 and played in the Belgian Elite League until the 2011–12 season when they were relegated to the 2nd Division for the 2012/13 season. The club have not won any major trophies but were runners up in the 2003-04 edition of the Belgian Cup. Ottiginies reached the Championship playoffs in three years running between 2004–05 and 2006-07 but lost at the semi-final stage on each occasion. Dendermondse Rugby Club
Dendermonde RC is a Belgian rugby union club currently competing in Belgian Elite League. The club is based in Dendermonde in the Flemish Province of East Flanders. They are currently the only team from Flanders in the top flight. The official colours of the club are green and yellow. History The club was founded in 1962 under the name of SOS Rugby Sint-Gillis. The club's first game was against ASUB, resulting in a 13-20 loss. Developing a strong youth following, the turn of the 1990s saw the club push on with the construction of its own complex in the Van Langenhovestraat region. and won its first Belgian League Title in 2012 having previously won the 2nd Division title twice in 1970 and 2010. RC Soignies
RC Soignies is a Belgian rugby union club currently competing in the Belgian Elite League. The club is based in Soignies in Hainaut. The official colours of the club are green and white. History The club was founded in 1973 and has never won the Belgian Elite League but recently won the Belgian Cup for the first time. In 2015, RC Soignies were beaten by a record 356-3 by Royal Kituro. The referee for the fixture arrived over an hour after the scheduled start time, during this period, most of the Soignies players left as they believed the match had been cancelled. The remaining players seemingly allowed the Kituro players to run unchallenged to score 56 tries and 38 conversions as a protest. Boitsfort Rugby Club is a Belgian rugby union club currently competing in the Belgian Elite League. The club is based in Brussels suburb of Boitsfort in the Brussels Capital Region. The official colours of the club are blue and white. ASUB Rugby Waterloo is a Belgian rugby union club currently competing in the Belgian Elite League. The club is based in Waterloo in the Walloon Brabant province of Belgium. King Baudouin Stadium
The King Baudouin Stadium ( ; ) is a sports ground in Brussels, Belgium. Located in the north-western district of the City of Brussels, it was built to embellish the Heysel/Heizel Plateau in view of the 1935 Brussels International Exposition.
