Christopher Alao-Akala
Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala (3 June 1950 – 12 January 2022) was a Nigerian politician and police officer who served as the governor of Oyo State in 2006, and again from 2007 to 2011. He was the candidate of the Action Democratic Party in the 2019 Oyo State gubernatorial election. Alao-Akala previously served as deputy governor of Oyo State from May 2003 to January 2006 succeeding Rashidi Ladoja when he was impeached, but later reverting to the office when Ladoja was reinstated in December 2006. He was elected governor in 2007, and lost reelection in 2011 to Abiola Ajimobi of the Action Congress of Nigeria. Abiola Ajimobi
Isiaka Abiola Adeyemi Ajimobi (16 December 1949 – 25 June 2020) was a Nigerian politician who served as governor of Oyo State from 2011 to 2019, he was the first person elected to the office twice. He was formerly the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company, a subsidiary of Shell Nigeria, Shell Petroleum, Nigeria. He left the oil sector in 2002 after 26 years of meritorious service and was elected in 2003 as a Senator of the Republic of Nigeria representing Oyo South Senatorial District on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (Nigeria), Alliance for Democracy (AD). Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (; born 25 September 1944) is a Nigerian businessman and politician who served as the governor of Oyo State from 2003 to 2006; and from 2006 to 2007. He was impeached in January 2006, and reinstated in December 2006. Early life Ladoja was born on 25 September 1944 in Gambari village near Ibadan. He attended Ibadan Boys High School (1958–1963) and Olivet Baptist High School (1964–1965). He studied at the University of Liège, Belgium (1966–1972) where he earned a degree in chemical engineering. The All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) was a political party in Nigeria. The ANPP was a household party in the extreme north of Nigeria, primarily due to its mass appeal among more religious voters. It was the strongest opposition party, controlling seven of the nation's thirty-six states at one point. The party's biggest achievement in the 2003 election was its gubernatorial victory in Kano State where it defeated the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) to take control of one of the country's most populous states. Following the 2007 election, the ANPP challenged the victory of Umaru Yar'Adua, although it was announced on 27 June 2007 following talks, that the ANPP had agreed to join Yar'Adua's government of national unity.
