2007 Next Generation Adelaide International
The 2007 Next Generation Adelaide International was a professional men's tennis event on the 2007 ATP Tour in Adelaide, Australia, held from 1 January to 7 January 2007. Novak Djokovic won the title, an ATP International Series level tournament. This was the first tournament of the season (alongside 2007 Movistar Open, Viña del Mar, 2007 Delray Beach International Tennis Championships, Delray Beach, 2007 ATP Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires and 2007 Tennis Channel Open and the Mirage Cup, Las Vegas) that implemented a 24-player round robin tournament for the singles competition, as part of the 2007 ATP Tour#Round-robin trial, round-robin trials proposed during this season. ATP International Series
The ATP International Series (known from 1990 to 1999 as the ATP World Series) was a series of professional tennis tournaments held internationally as part of the ATP Tour from 2000 to 2008. The series was renamed ATP Tour 250 in 2009. International Series offered players cash prizes (tournaments have purses from $416,000 to $1,000,000) and the ability to earn ATP ranking points. They generally offered less prize money and fewer points than the ATP International Series Gold, but more than tournaments on the ATP Challenger Series. Richard Gabriel Cyr Gasquet (; born 18 June 1986) is a French former professional tennis player. He was ranked as high as world No. 7 in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP, attained in July 2007. is a former professional Japanese tennis player. He started playing tennis at the age of four and turned professional in April 2003. He has won 18 singles titles on the ATP Challenger Tour, and achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 47 on 23 July 2012. Nathan Healey
Nathan Healey (born 27 February 1980 in Gosford, New South Wales) is an Australian tennis player. Turning professional in 1998, Healey has won 3 doubles titles. In 2006, he earned a wildcard to the Australian Open, making the 3rd round, where he was defeated by Russian Nikolay Davydenko in four sets. Later that year, he made it to the 3rd qualifying round at Wimbledon, where he was soundly defeated by Robert Kendrick. As of 26 June 2006, Healey was 199th in the ATP rankings. In January 2007 Healey substituted for Mark Philippoussis after the latter sustained a knee injury during the Hopman Cup in Perth. Paul Baccanello
Paul Baccanello (born 12 June 1979, in Adelaide) is a former Australian professional tennis player. He sustained various injuries during his career, which hampered his results. Career Baccanello managed to qualify for the main draw at Wimbledon in 2003. He defeated former top 100 player Ivo Heuberger in the first round, before falling in a tight four set match to Croatian Ivo Karlović in the second round. As a result, he earned a career best prize-money of over $23,000 and rose 37 places in the ATP rankings. In arguably his best performance to date, he did manage to reach the semi-finals of the Challenger event at Segovia in 2003, where he played Rafael Nadal. In a close match, Baccanello took Rafael to a tie-break in the first set, before Nadal took control in the second set, winning 7–6, 6–4. Peter Luczak
Peter Luczak (, ; born 31 August 1979) is a retired professional tennis player from Australia. His career-high ATP singles ranking was World No. 64, achieved in October 2009. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games held in Delhi, Luczak won the Gold in the doubles. Luczak came to Australia at 9 months of age, when his parents, Eva and Kris, left Warsaw in 1980, where they settled in Melbourne. Luczak started playing tennis at the age of 5, he was introduced to the game by his Polish born father Kris. He did not have major success at junior level and was not able to receive funding from Tennis Australia nor have a major sponsor. Alun Jones (born 26 April 1980) is a retired Australian professional tennis player. Jones started playing tennis at age 7. His parents are David, a civil engineer, and Susan. Chris Guccione (tennis)
Christopher Luke Guccione ( ; born 30 July 1985) is an inactive Australian professional tennis player from Greenvale, Victoria. He has won five ATP Tour doubles titles, and reached career-high rankings of singles world No. 67 in April 2008 and doubles world No. 38 in November 2014. Personal life Guccione is of Italian descent on his father's side. He was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder. He is married to Andra Kucerak, with whom he has two children.
