2007 Minnesota Twins Season
The 2007 Minnesota Twins season was the 47th season for the franchise in Minnesota, and the 107th overall in the American League. They were managed by Ron Gardenhire and played their home games in the Metrodome in Minneapolis. The Twins finished the season with a 79-83 record, their first losing record since 2000. On September 13, Twins general manager Terry Ryan resigned. He was replaced by Assistant General Manager Bill Smith. American League Central
The American League Central is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. This division was formed in the realignment of 1994 by moving three teams from the American League West and two teams from the American League East. The Minnesota Twins are an American professional baseball team based in Minneapolis. The Twins compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) Central Division. Kirby Puckett
Kirby Puckett (March 14, 1960 – March 6, 2006) was an American professional baseball player. He played his entire 12-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career as a center fielder for the Minnesota Twins (1984–1995). Puckett is the Twins' all-time leader in career hits, runs, and total bases. At the time of his retirement, his .318 career batting average was the highest by any right-handed American League batter since Joe DiMaggio. Puckett was the fourth baseball player during the 20th century to record 1,000 hits in his first five full calendar years in Major League Baseball, and was the second to record 2,000 hits during his first ten full calendar years. Nicholas Paul Punto (born November 8, 1977) is an American former professional baseball infielder. Juan Manuel Rincón (born January 23, 1979) is a Venezuelan professional baseball coach and former relief pitcher. Rincón bats and throws right-handed. Justin Ernest George Morneau (born May 15, 1981) is a Canadian former professional baseball first baseman.
