2007 International GT Open
The 2007 International GT Open season was the second season of the International GT Open, the grand tourer-style sports car racing founded in 2006 by the Spanish GT Sport Organización. It began on 21 April at ACI Vallelunga Circuit and finished on 11 November, at Barcelona after six double-header meetings with one single race round. Overall championship was won by Autorlando drivers Joël Camathias and Richard Lietz, GTA class was won by Scuderia Playteam SaraFree drivers Michele Maceratesi and Andrea Montermini, while GTS class title was clinched by Riccardo Romagnoli. International GT Open
The International GT Open is a grand tourer-style sports car racing series founded in 2006 by the Spanish GT Sport Organización. It was a spin-off of the now-defunct Spanish GT Championship, but is now a distinct series featuring FIA GT3-spec cars modified from production road cars. Format The series consists of events in various European countries which feature two races over a weekend. In its first year, the races had an identical format to the Spanish GT Championship, with two 200 km races, the first held on Saturday and the second the following Sunday. Three of the six rounds were joint events for the Open and the Spanish GT Championship. In 2007, the first race, known as ''Pro-Am'', covers approximately 200 km distance, while the second race is 150 km and known as ''GT Open''. Circuit Ricardo Tormo, also known as ''Circuit de Valencia'' and officially named ''Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo'', is a motorsport race track located in Cheste (Valencian Community, Spain) and built in 1999. Peter Hans Sundberg (born 10 May 1976) is a Swedish car racing driver with titles in several categories. He was born and grew up in the south of Spain, spending his teen years riding motocross. Sundberg finished near the top of numerous Formula Renault championships, then going into Formula Three where he won the Italian Formula Three Championship in 1999.
