2007 FIVB Volleyball World League
The 2007 FIVB Volleyball World League was the 18th edition of the annual men's international volleyball tournament, played by 16 countries from 25 May to 15 July 2007. The Final Round was held in Katowice, Poland. Pools composition Intercontinental round *The Final Round hosts Poland, the winners of each pool and a wild card chosen by the FIVB will qualify for the Final Round. If Poland are ranked first in Pool D, the team ranked second of Pool D will qualify for the Final Round. Spodek
Spodek is a multipurpose arena complex in Katowice, Poland, opened on 9 May 1971. Aside from the main dome, the complex includes a gym, an ice rink, a hotel and three large car parks. It was the largest indoor venue of its kind in Poland until it was surpassed by Tauron Arena in 2014. The Spodek hosts many important cultural and business events. Music concerts are especially common non-sport events. It can hold around 11,500 people, although this number is in practice limited to 10,000 or even 8,000 due to stage set-ups obscuring the view. Its Polish name refers to a flying saucer since its iconic shape resembles a UFO. Spodek is a major contribution to the cultural significance of Katowice in Poland, especially for the younger generations. Sérgio Dutra dos Santos, known as Serginho or Escadinha (born 15 October 1975) is a Brazilian former volleyball player and four-time Olympian. 2007 In Volleyball
7 (seven) is the natural number following 6 and preceding 8. It is the only prime number preceding a cube. As an early prime number in the series of positive integers, the number seven has symbolic associations in religion, mythology, superstition and philosophy. Richard Lambourne
Richard Edward "Rich" Lambourne (born May 6, 1975) is an American indoor volleyball player. He joined the U.S. men's national team in 2000 as the designated libero. He has recently played for Delecta Bydgoszcz. Lambourne made his Olympic debut at the 2008 Olympics, helping Team USA to a gold medal. High school and personal life Lambourne was born in Louisville, Kentucky, to Paul and Ann Lambourne. He grew up in Tustin, California, and attended Foothill High School. Lambourne was badly injured during a bike accident when he was 6. He skinned his shoulder to the bone and mangled the right side of his face. He says of the accident, "I could have been much uglier but due to my loving parents and medical science, I am only mostly unattractive." Paweł Zagumny
Paweł Zagumny (born 18 October 1977) is a Polish former professional volleyball player. Zagumny was a member of the Poland national team from 1996 to 2014 and a participant in 4 Olympic Games ( Atlanta 1996, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012). During his career, he won the 2014 World Champion title, 2012 World League, and the 2009 European Champion title. Personal life Zagumny was born in Jasło, but he grew up in Warsaw, in Ursynów district. He is Hanna and Lech Zagumny's son, his father is a former volleyball player and a coach. Yury Viktorovich Berezhko (; born 27 January 1984) is a Russian volleyball player. He currently plays outside hitter for VC Zenit-Kazan. Semyon Vladimirovich Poltavskiy () (born 8 February 1981 in Odesa, Ukrainian SSR) is a former volleyball player from Russia, who was a member of the Russia men's national volleyball team, men's national team that won the silver medal in both the 2005 and 2007 European Championships. Bernardo Rezende
Bernardo Rocha de Rezende (born 25 August 1959), known as Bernardo Rezende and nicknamed Bernardinho, is a Brazilian volleyball coach and former player. He is the current coach of the female volleyball team Rio de Janeiro Vôlei Clube. Rezende is one of the most successful coaches in the history of volleyball, accumulating more than 30 major titles in a twenty-year career directing the Brazilian Brazil men's national volleyball team, male and Brazil women's national volleyball team, female teams. Dante Guimarães Santos do Amaral (born 30 September 1980) is a Brazilian former professional volleyball player, who is best known as Dante. Measuring he played in the position of outside hitter. He was born in Itumbiara. Biography Early years Career Dante began his professional career in 1999 with the club Tres Corações. After another two years at Brazilian clubs Suzano São Paulo and Minas Belo Horizonte, in 2002 he got transferred to Italy, playing with Pallavolo Modena, where he won the CEV Cup. In 2005 he joined Greek team Panathinaikos. He won the Greek championship in 2006 and the Greek cup and supercup in 2007. Ricardo Garcia (volleyball)
Ricardo Bermudez Garcia (born 19 November 1975), known as Ricardinho, is a Brazilian volleyball player. He competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics. Ricardinho was born in São Paulo. In 2004, he was part of the Brazilian team which won the gold medal in the Olympic tournament. He played all eight matches. In 2007, Ricardinho was dismissed from the team, reportedly because of conflicts with other team members. He rejoined the team for the 2012 Olympics in London where they won the silver medal. Gustavo Endres (born 23 August 1975) is a Brazilian former volleyball player who was a member of the Brazilian national volleyball team from 1997 to 2008. He was a gold medalist in the 2004 Olympics, a silver medalist of the 2008 Olympics, World Champion (2002, 2006), and a multimedalist of the World League, South American Championship, World Cup, and the Grand Champions Cup.
