2007 Epping Forest District Council Election
Elections to Epping Forest (district), Epping Forest Council were held on 3 May 2007 in Essex, England. One third of the council was up for election and the Conservative Party (UK), Conservative Party regained overall control of the council, thanks initially to a by-election in Grange Hill, Essex, Grange Hill in December 2006, and then following gains at this election. The British National Party retained all its representation on the council with 6 seats, and marginally increased its vote share. The remaining Labour Party (UK), Labour councillor, Peter Gode of Shelley retained his seat, albeit with a significantly reduced majority. 2006 Epping Forest District Council Election
Elections to Epping Forest Council were held on 4 May 2006. One third of the council was up for election and the council stayed under no overall control. The Labour Party was reduced to one seat following wipeout of their representation in Loughton – remaining Labour councillor, Peter Gode of Shelley would resign in 2015. Stephen Murray, Labour councillor for Loughton Roding, defected and became an Independent. This election also marks the most recent time a Conservative has won a seat in Loughton. The Liberal Democrats lost another seat, whilst the Loughton Residents Association also lost a seat to the British National Party, who doubled their representation and increased their vote share. Epping Forest District Council Elections
The districts of England, district of Epping Forest (district), Epping Forest is in the counties of England, county of Essex in England. It was created on 1 April 1974, following the merger of Epping Urban District, Chigwell Urban District, Waltham Holy Cross Urban District, and part of Epping and Ongar Rural District. Until 2002, Epping Forest District Council was represented by 59 councillors. In 2002 the ward boundaries were reorganised, resulting in the loss of one council seat, and since then the district has had 58 councillors representing 32 wards of the United Kingdom, wards. Loughton () is a suburban town and Civil parishes in England, civil parish in the Epping Forest District of Essex. Epping is a market town and civil parish in the Epping Forest District of Essex, England. Part of the London metropolitan area, metropolitan and Urban area, urban area of London, it is 17 miles (27 km) northeast of Charing Cross.
