2007 China Open (tennis)
The 2007 China Open was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 9th edition of the China Open, and was part of the International Series of the 2007 ATP Tour, and of the Tier II Series of the 2007 WTA Tour. Both the men's and the women's events took place at the Beijing Tennis Center in Beijing, China, with the men playing from September 10 through September 16, 2007, and the women from September 17 through September 23, 2007. The men's singles featured ATP No. 4, Australian Open quarterfinalist, French Open and US Open semifinalist Nikolay Davydenko, Australian Open and Rome Masters runner-up Fernando González, and Auckland finalist and Sopot titlist Tommy Robredo. 2007 French Open – Men's Singles
Two-time defending champion Rafael Nadal defeated Roger Federer in a rematch of the previous year's final, 6–3, 4–6, 6–3, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2007 French Open. It was his third French Open title and third major title overall. For the second consecutive year, Federer was attempting to complete the career Grand Slam and to become the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to hold all four major titles at once, having won the preceding Wimbledon Championships, US Open, and Australian Open. Marcos Baghdatis
Marcos Baghdatis (Greek language, Greek: Μάρκος Παγδατής, Arabic language, Arabic: ماركوس بغداتيس); born 17 June 1985 is a Greek Cypriot former professional tennis player and coach. He was the runner-up at the 2006 Australian Open – Men's singles, 2006 Australian Open and a semifinalist at the 2006 Wimbledon Championships – Men's singles, 2006 Wimbledon Championships, and reached a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP singles ATP rankings, ranking of world No. 8 in August 2006. Ivan Ljubičić
Ivan Ljubičić (; born 19 March 1979) is a Croatian former professional tennis player, coach and Tennis TV commentator. He reached a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) world No. 3 singles ranking on 1 May 2006. His career highlights include reaching a major semifinal at the 2006 French Open, and a Masters title at the Indian Wells Masters in 2010. He also contested three other Masters finals, two in 2005 at Madrid and Paris, and the other at the 2006 Miami Open. Since retiring, Ljubičić has coached ATP top-3-ranked players Milos Raonic and Roger Federer. Tomás Robredo Garcés (, ; born 1 May 1982) is a Spanish former professional tennis player. His career-high singles ranking was world No. 5, which he reached in August 2006 as a result of winning the 2006 Hamburg Masters – Singles, Hamburg Masters earlier in the year. Robredo reached the quarterfinals at seven singles Grand Slam (tennis)#Tournaments, major tournaments. He was also a three-time semifinalist at the US Open (tennis), US Open men's doubles tournament, and a semifinalist at the Australian Open in mixed doubles. The 2007 Italian Open (also known for 2007 Rome Masters and the sponsored name 2007 Internazionali BNL d'Italia) was the 2007 edition of the Italian Open tennis tournament.
