2006 Speedway Grand Prix Of Sweden
The 2006 Speedway Grand Prix of Sweden was the third round of the 2006 Speedway Grand Prix season (the world championship). It took place on 6 May 2006 at the Smedstadion in Eskilstuna, Sweden. It was the 12th time that the Speedway Grand Prix of Sweden had been held. The Grand Prix was by the Australian rider Jason Crump (his 14th career Grand Prix win). Smedstadion
Eskilstuna Motorstadion, also known as Smedstadion or Gröndals Motorstadion is a motorcycle speedway stadium located outside of Eskilstuna, Sweden. The stadium was opened in 2002 and is the home arena of Elitserien team Smederna who compete in the Swedish Speedway Team Championship. History The stadium was opened on 27 April 2002. The stadium was formerly known as Ikarosstadion from 2008 to 2009 due to sponsorship reasons from the company Ikaros. The stadium has hosted a World Championship round called the Speedway Grand Prix of Sweden in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and the Swedish Individual Speedway Championship in 2002. Freddie Lindgren
Jan Fredrik Tobias (Freddie) Lindgren (born 15 September 1985) is a Swedish motorcycle speedway rider. He has won the silver medal and the bronze medal twice at the Speedway World Championship, in addition to the world team championship in 2015. Career Born in Örebro, Sweden. Lindgren's father Tommy Lindgren was a speedway rider before him, and his younger brother Ludvig also rides. Lindgren first appeared for Wolverhampton Wolves during the 2003 season as the team struggled with injuries. At the age of just 17, Freddie made his debut for the team and impressed enough to be brought back the following season when again injuries hit the club. In 2005, he moved over to full-time and averaged 7.44 for Wolves in his debut full season and in 2006 he improved to average 8.12. Eric Andersson
Eric Andersson (born 15 June 1984) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Sweden. Career Andersson came to prominence when he reached the final of the 2004 Speedway Under-21 World Championship. In 2006, he joined the Oxford Cheetahs to ride in the 2006 Elite League speedway season. The following season he resigned for the Cheetahs but the club withdrew from the league but Andersson continued to ride for Rospiggarna in Sweden and in Grudziądz in Poland. He rode one heat in 2007 Speedway Grand Prix of Sweden, when he replaced injured Wiesław Jaguś in Heat 19. Jonas Davidsson
Jan Jonas Daniel Davidsson (born 7 August 1984 in Motala, Sweden) is a Swedish former motorcycle speedway rider. He earned 14 caps for the Sweden national speedway team. Career Davidsson came to prominence after reaching three World Under 21 finals in 2003, 2004 and 2005. He also won the Swedish Junior Speedway Championship in 2005. He signed for his first British team Reading Racers for the 2003 Premier League speedway season and his first Polish team Zielona Góra in 2006. In 2006 he rode for Poole Pirates before re-joining Reading. In 2008, Davidsson experienced arguably his finest career achievement when he won a bronze medal representing Sweden at the 2008 Speedway World Cup. Lee Stewart Richardson (25 April 1979 – 13 May 2012) was a British international motorcycle speedway rider. Career Richardson made his British debut for the Reading Racers in 1995. Richardson represented Great Britain speedway team, Great Britain at senior and under-21 level and featured in several Speedway World Cup, World Cup tournaments. Richardson was World Under 21 champion in 1999. In October 2002, during the Speedway Grand Prix Qualification he won the 2002 Speedway Grand Prix Qualification, GP Challenge, which ensured that he claimed a permanent slot for the 2003 Speedway Grand Prix, 2003 Grand Prix. Piotr Protasiewicz (born 25 January 1975 in Zielona Góra, Poland) is a Polish international speedway rider. He is a four times World team champion and earned 24 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Career Protasiewicz began his career riding for Falubaz Zielona Góra in 1991 where he would spend four seasons.
