The 2006 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup or known as the 2006 Gran Matador Brandy Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup is the second conference of the 2005-06 PBA season. The tournament has four rounds, the wildcard playoffs, quarterfinals, semi-finals and the Finals. All nine teams are included in the playoffs. ''PBA on ABC'' (later renamed as ''PBA on TV5'') is a Philippine television sports presentation show broadcast by ABC/TV5. It aired from February 22, 2004 to August 20, 2008, replacing '' Ispup'' and ''Friday Box Office'' and was replaced by '' Lokomoko'', '' Lipgloss'' and ''HushHush''. Edgar E. Picson (July 10, 1953 – April 19, 2023) was a Filipino sportscaster, sports administrator, columnist and television actor. Picson was known for being a commentator in the Philippine Basketball Association from the 1990s to the early 2000s. He was president of the Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines from November 2021 until his death in 2023. Education Picson attended the Colegio de San Juan de Letran. The Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots, or simply known as the Magnolia Hotshots, are a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association. Cuneta Astrodome, also known as Pasay Astrodome or simply the Astrodome, is an indoor arena located in Pasay, Philippines. Barako Bull Energy Boosters
The Barako Bull Energy Boosters were a professional basketball team of the Philippine Basketball Association owned by the Photokina Marketing Corporation. They entered the league in 2000, after a successful stint in the semi-professional Philippine Basketball League during the late 1990s. Under the name Agfa Color, the team won a championship in 1996. It was originally known as the Red Bull Barako before the team announced its name change. Barako Bull has won two Commissioner's Cups, in 2001 and in 2002 and the 2006 Fiesta Conference.
