2006 Nebraska Cornhuskers Football Team
The 2006 Nebraska Cornhuskers football team represented the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the 2006 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was coached by Bill Callahan (football coach), Bill Callahan and played their home games at Memorial Stadium, Lincoln, Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska. Before the season While the Huskers lost talented running back Cory Ross and defensive back Daniel Bullocks, they did retain offensive lynchpin Zac Taylor (QB) and talented kicker Jordon Congdon. The team also hoped to play I-back Marlon Lucky (who excelled on kick returns as a freshman) as their starting running back. Terrence Nunn, the top kick-returner in the Big 12 last season, also returned and was intended to be the Huskers' featured receiver. Bill Callahan (American Football Coach)
William E. Callahan (born July 31, 1956) is an American football coach who is the position coach, offensive line coach for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League (NFL). He was the head coach of the Oakland Raiders in 2002 and 2003, leading them to Super Bowl XXXVII, where the Raiders lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 48–21. He was also the head coach for the Nebraska Cornhuskers football, Nebraska Cornhuskers from 2004 to 2007 and interim head coach for the Washington Redskins in 2019. Callahan is considered to be one of the best offensive line coaches in the NFL. His son Brian Callahan is the head coach of the Titans. Terrence Nunn
Terrence Nunn (born July 25, 1986) is a former American football wide receiver. He most recently played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was signed by the New England Patriots as a street free agent in 2009. He played college football at Nebraska. Nunn has also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Early life Nunn attended Cypress Falls High School in Harris County, Texas, where he played football and track and field. He was a two-time all-district selection, and the team's MVP in his 2003 senior season. He caught 27 passes for 623 yards as a junior and 34 passes for 471 yards as a senior. College career After graduating high school, Nunn attended the University of Nebraska, where he played in 11 games as a true freshman, starting six. 2006 Troy Trojans Football Team
The 2006 Troy Trojans football team represented Troy University as a member of the Sun Belt Conference during the 2006 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Led by 16th-year head coach Larry Blakeney, the Trojans compiled an overall record of 8–5 with a mark of 6–1 in conference play, sharing the Sun Belt title with Middle Tennessee. This was the program's first Sun Belt championship since joining the conference two years prior, in 2004. ''College GameDay'' (branded as ''ESPN College GameDay built by The Home Depot'' for sponsorship reasons) is a pre-game show broadcast by ESPN as part of the network's ESPN College Football, coverage of college football, broadcast on Saturday mornings during the college football season. In its current form, the program is typically broadcast from the campus of the team hosting a featured game being played that day and features news and analysis of the day's upcoming games. The 2006 USC Trojans football team represented the University of Southern California during the 2006 NCAA Division I FBS football season, winning the Pacific-10 Conference (Pac-10) and playing in the Rose Bowl. The team was coached by Pete Carroll, led on offense by quarterback John David Booty, and played their home games in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
