2006 Tippeligaen
The 2006 Tippeligaen was the 62nd completed season of top division football in Norway. The season began on April 9, 2006 and ended on November 5, 2006. Rosenborg became champions on October 29, with one round to go, by defeating Viking at home. The other main contenders for the title were Brann and Lillestrøm, the former securing their place as runners-up on the same day. Rosenborg won their twentieth league title. Norwegian reserve football teams compete at all levels of league football within the Norwegian football league system apart from the top two divisions, Eliteserien and the First Division. The highest league these teams can currently enter is the Second Division, set at the third tier of the league system. The reserve teams are attached to their first teams with a "2" suffix and must play in a lower league than the first team. If a reserve team ends up at a promotion spot when it is not allowed to be promoted, the promotion is awarded to the next team in the league standings which is allowed to be promoted. Also, a reserve team is forcefully relegated, regardless of the final league position, if it is no longer qualified for playing at that level — i.e. if the first team is relegated to the same tier as the reserve team. Korsvoll IL is a sports club from Korsvoll in the borough of Nordre Aker in Oslo, Norway. It was founded on 5 March 1899 as a skiing club, and today has sections for football, handball, floorball, and cross-country skiing. Football The men's football team plays in the Third Division after being relegated from the Second Division in 2009. Their home field is Korsvollbanen. Korsvoll IL's supporter club was founded in 2005, and is named "Gladlaksene". In 2005 they beat Elverum in a playoff and was promoted to the Second Division, where they played from 2006 to 2009. In 2010, Korsvoll won their Third Division group, but were defeated by Nesodden in the promotion-playoffs. FK Tønsberg was a football club from the city of Tønsberg in Tønsberg Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway, founded on 10 October 2001 as a cooperation project between 20 local clubs. Tromsdalen UIL is a Norwegian sports club founded in 1938, from Tromsdalen in the municipality of Tromsø. It has sections for football, athletics, skiing and gymnastics. The men's football team plays in 2. divisjon, the third level in Norwegian football. Their home games are played at Tromsdalen Stadion, which seats 3,000 spectators. Their colors are red and blue. Manglerud Star Fotball is an association football club based in Oslo, Norway. It is part of the multi-sport club Manglerud Star. The club was established in its current form on December 14, 2005 after a merger between Manglerud Star Fotball and Fotballklubben Oslo Øst, the latter of which originally formed in 2000.
